4th Gen What did you do with your Kanto/Hoenn Starters?

    As most of you will probably know, once you defeat Red, you get to choose one Kanto starter and one Hoenn starter from Professor Oak and Steven Stone in Pallet Town and Saffron City respectively. I chose Bulbasaur and Mudkip, as I started off with them back in my old Red and Sapphire games years ago, but that's not the point.

    What did you do with those starters once you received them? Did you dump them in the PC? Did you try to raise them in the game or did you trade them to another game (whether it's Diamond/Pearl/Platinum or an unused HeartGold/SoulSilver cartridge) to raise them through yet another playthrough of the games?

    I'm personally leaning towards trading them to another game at some point (as in if I can find a cheap DS anywhere :D) to raise them in a more interesting way, instead of power-levelling them up in my mainly complete HeartGold file.

    So what did you do with them?
     
    I've never used my bulbasaur in-game and he's level 29 haha, he's the one i put in my pokewalker everytime I use it ;D

    I chose Squirtle as my Kanto starter. Who is on my main team. Torchic my Hoenn starter is used for breeding purposes. (:
     
    SR-ed for a Shiny Charmander and leveled that up since it's my favorite pokemon :) And the mudkip spent the rest of it's day rotting in my Pc.
     
    I'm playing through HG and SS. Haven't beat Red on either. I'll get a Squirtle and Treeko on HG. And a Bulbasaur and Torchic on SS. Because I already have all the Kanto starters (Besides Squirtle) and a mudkip. I'll trade them to HG and train them for my Pokedex.
     
    I'm going to evolve Charmander and Torchic just to get their pokedex entry. ^^ I'll probably breed them to get better natures, and raise them after I complete the pokedex.
     
    I haven't even beat the Elite Four but I'm planning on getting Charmander as my Kanto starter, and Torchic as my Hoenn starter. :)
     
    I got Mudkip as my Hoenn starter, and Bulbasaur as my Kanto Starter.

    For my Mudkip, I'll probably just train it normally (no EV training) for it's Pokedex entry.

    As for my Bulbasaur, I soft-resetted until I got a shiny (took me 704 tries). It's going to stay as a Bulbasaur, and for the lulz I'l going to EV train it. xD
     
    I chose Charmander for my Kanto starter && Mudkip for my Hoenn starter.

    I wanna do the same thing as well.
     
    Not got there yet, but I'll most likely dump the Squirtle I plan to get in the PC to never see the light of day again (unless I need to do some breeding), and the Treecko will be EV trained to be the your standard special sweeping Sceptile and may see some use in the Frontier or wifi. :D
     
    I had no idea you could do that, since I'm just now starting on the Kanto portion of the game, but that's awesome! I'll probably train them for Wi-Fi battles, since that's what I'll most likely be doing after I finish as much of the game as I can. For me, it'll be Bulbasaur and Mudkip. =)
     
    I used my Treecko as a death machine and it is now a level 97 Sceptile with nice sweeping capabilities. xD
     
    I leveled them up in my Pokewalker, mostly. :) Not my bulbasaur yet, but I probably will.
    Hey.. we both have Togekisses named Hardboiled XD That's the name of my Togekiss in my Platinum version!
     
    I haven't gotten that far yet, but don't know who to choose between Charmander and Squirtile.
     
    I chose Charmander for my Kanto starter, but I gave it away because I already had a Chariozard.

    I chose Treecko for my Hoenn starter, and I just dumped it in my PC since I don't need it.
     
    LOL. My Torchic and Charmander will become my main attackers.
     
    I'm picking bulbasaur and either Mudkip or torchic.

    I'll try to use Bulbasaur for a while and see how I like him, as for the Hoenn starter...well idk yet.
