5th Gen What ever happened to Fast Psychic-Types?

    In GenV, you have Sigilyph. Swoobat has HORRIBLE Sp.Att at 77 (ok, decent, maybe, but bad for a Psychic-Type). Everything else has a Base Speed of =<65 (Victini and Meloetta excluded, as they are Event Pokemon). Gothitelle doesn't even break 100 for its Sp.Att Stat. What happened to my Alakazam with B120 Speed and 135 Sp.Att or Starmie with B115 Speed and 100 Sp.Att?
     
    Is there a problem with bulky Psychic types? Swoobat and Gothitelle aside, the other two have abilities and moves that give them nice longevity and defensive properties in battle. Nothing wrong with variety.

    Also, Hypno, Slowbro, and Exeggutor. Plenty of Psychic types are slow.

    I personally don't play Competitive battles, so Speed is everything to me. My complaint is that NOTHING is fast (psychic-typing, of course) in GenV.

    Average Speed (NFE and Events Excluded)

    GenI - 88
    GenII - 73
    GenIII - 74
    GenIV - 81
    GenV - 63

    On average, GenI Psychic-Types were at least DECENT. The Slowbro Tree was meant to be slow, so I'm pretty sure that's an exception (still counted in the averages). I'll admit that GenV Psychics are bulkier, but Psychic has always been the best typing. They're meant to be Sweepers, not walls.

    I'm not saying that GenV is GenI. I'm just saying I want my Sweepers back. D:
     
    Lol, Yes, I noticed that.
    That's probably the reason why my conscious decided to make me stay away from the psychic types this generation.
     
    Well the Gen 1 Psychic types were too perfect... so they downplayed them.

    However we still have a perfect Psychic type (Renuclus) that's actually making another just as good Psychic type (Gothitelle) look bad.
     
    Well, since you have complaints with Gen V Pokemon only, this would belong in likes/dislikes, where you can debate things such as this - whether B/W's psychic types are fast enough or not.

    And if you do get interested in competitive play sometime in the future and are interested in discussing fast psychic types overall (and whether there's been enough recently), then discuss that in Strategies and Movesets, but as it is this type of stuff fits perfectly in likes/dislikes. :(
