I am planning on making a Pokemon Game but I do not know what game Maker to use. Which program do you guys think is best. I need something easy to use.
I use game maker. RMXP requires you to download extra data files for the game, but game maker you only requires you to download the game and nothing else. Plus you can make maore than just pokemon games with it. Also Game Maker is free unless you buy Pro(not necessary). RMXP is just a trial unless you buy it which I think is a waste.
Here is the link for Game Maker 7. https://www.yoyogames.com/gamemaker/try
Also if you need help: https://www.gmc.yoyogames.com
And you can allways PM me for help anytime.
For resources I would also suggest Poccil's starter kit. It is made for RMXP but can easilly be used in Game Maker.
Well XD if your going towards size, Game maker creates pretty large files and I've seen all of the pokemon games ranging from 50 to 120 MB. RMXP however sticks with the 25MB to 50MB range depending on your Music choice. Game maker creates big files because of all the sprites and objects. I'd only recommend it for games not towards RPG's.
I'd suggest RMXP it can create a perfect clone and Ruby isn't hard to learn(so I've heard) and you can use the original tiles(the 16X16 ones) and just use a resolution script that was posted. Theres already some great starter kits so not much programming would be needed.
