4th Gen What Graphics Would You Prefer?

HeartGold & SoulSilver - It may just be me but I was not very fond of the strange DS graphics what were used in Diamond and Pearl.

I would rather have the FireRed / LeafGreen Graphics for this.

Does anyone else agree?

I am not being picky I am just curious.

I think it would look better in my opinion, GBA style does look nicer to me, than the DS style.

I am not acting like they owe me anything though.

I loathe D/P style graphics. Fr/Lg had nice depth to it, which the D/P style doesn't have, that relies on the mediocre 3D effects.

At least HG/SS looks like a slight improvement. It looks more colorful and less dull. I just hope they fix that sprite-stretching issue. :\

wat are you slow? HG&SS are looking magnificent with the DS graphics!! GBA is cute yeah but the stuff there adding in HG&SS wouldnt look as good with lame GBA graphics.. 3D on HG&SS is the shiznit man get with the program

No offense to anyone, but I wasn't too thrilled over the FrLg graphics. I'm happy with the way the graphics are currently in Heart Gold and Soul Silver. (However, I wouldn't mind if they made the Celebi shrine a shade of green or made it wood-ish.) I really like the Whirl Islands and the look of Ecruteak. It's not like DP graphics, just a little similar. I like the HGSS graphics the most. More than any other Pokemon game. Keep it the way it is. Magnet train station looks awesome as well as that Dance theater! :D

The 3-D look is awesome, I think it's a great direction their taking Pokemon in. I just don't like the grass and tree colours (except Ecruteak) because it should have that autumn olive\auburn style. Not a vomit tinted neon.

I have seen the graphics, they certianly do not look, 'magnificent' The trainer constantly has a Pokémon following him or her. The Pokémon does not look right with the grapics of the trailer - and the houses look all stretched and strange - plus the Pokémon are not in proportion with the trainer. It all looks messed up. The graphics in D & P do not blend nicely. They are a terrible attempt at 3D - The graphics worked already when they were simple.

Both are great. I would be happy either way.
But considering the game is for DS, maybe a DPP-style would be more suitable.

ehh everybody a critic.. all im saying is the graphics of HG&SS (also including the great 3D look of the trainers bag use) are very attractive and to me is a way better improvement than what the game wouldve seemed like with GBA graphics. although i do agree with you on the pokemon that constantly marches behind you (i truely hope they fix that) and the new grass aswell. when i saw that grass all i could think of was that they shouldve put that kinda grass in a safari zone or something lol

I'm not quite sure why you're bashing the OP... I think that she stated her opinion in a very calm way and was not whining about HGSS at all! We all have our own preferences.

There's not much speculation left to do, as it's obvious from the screenshots already that we'll be getting graphics similar to the DP style. And while I do happen to prefer the GBA-style graphics, it only makes sense for HGSS to be in DP style -- otherwise it would be seen as 'backtracking,' in a sense. I wish we were still in the GBA era, then my favorite graphics style would be acceptable~

Comparing the two, In my opinion that is, the gba graphics aren't nearly as nice

You *almost* hit the nail on the head, thread starter. The graphics are closer to Platinum, with more polished and varied 3d objects, and I like it that way. It's easier to make things look nice in a 2d style, though. Less grainy and all that.

On a liken note, did anyone notice there were actual ramps(!!) at the well? The only other time I've seen a real live ramp in a Pokemon game is in the Platinum Battle Frontier.

I'm torn between the two. Fr/Lg graphics were very pretty, but I just love the Platinum graphics, and HG/SS is looking even better.

Other than my old person speech, which quite frankly I'm too young to be making, I would like to say that I kind of enjoy the newer graphics, since they seem more fresh. But, I do see the appeal of 3-D, so I respect either opinion.

I would just like the DPP graphics to be saturated (Like FRLG). Pale color's don't really suit Pokemon IMO.

I didn't like FR/LG graphics design, as I liked R/S/E's ones. But, without any doubt I'm choosing the new graphics.
There's nothing out of proportion, and If you're claiming for a giga wailord following you, just forget that, you won't have that.
