Little bit of a background story... as a little girl I was an absolute pokemaniac I'd play my pokemon blue yellow and gold over and over again but my parents would never buy my a link cable so I could never complete my pokedex. The worst part is back when only red and blue were out I was at a cousins birthday at the mall and they had a frigging nintendo event where they were giving out mew and I didn't have my gameboy.
Even though that was like 7 years ago it sill bothers me... so I am going to finally get all the pokemon legitimately on blue.
So can I use one of the event mews that know no special moves and trade it from HG to Plat to EM to CRY to blue?
I'm not 100% sure because due to never having a link cable I don't know much about trading between generations.
Yes, I am buying lots of games and another gameboy advanced for this.
    I love pokemon :D

Any advice for the cheapest and quickest way to do this? Am I accidentally adding another gen?

Unfortunately due to the major differences in system architecture between the Gameboy/Colour and the Advance/DS, it isn't possible to transfer data from anything above Generation II (G/S/C) back to Generation I (G/R/B/Y). That means you can't trade or transfer Pokémon between R/S/E/FR/LG/D/P/Pt/HG/SS and R/B/Y/G/S/C. The way the data is handled is completely different.

Also, you can only transfer Pokémon from the GBA to the DS games one way only. You can transfer to the DS games but not from them.

I hate to be the voice of gloom here, but the only way you can obtain Mew on Blue legitimately is to find someone who has it and do a trade-back. Also I feel for you about the missing the Nintendo event thing. That really sucks. :(

Above post pretty much answers your question. So, if nothing else will be said, then I'll close this thread.
