3rd Gen What Should i do?

Okay, So I started my FireRed with Squirtle.
I Caught Myself a Caterpie, A Pikachu, and a Pidgey.

I'm headed for my Second Gym now.
Wartortle, Butterfree, Pikachu, Pidgey [Going for Pidgeotto.]
Pikachu is who i will be using there.

I Am wondering who I should use for the Third Gym, Since that's Electric.
Wartortle will be Effected there.
Butterfree will be Effected there.
Pidgeotto will be Effected there.
Pikachu will hardly do any damage there.

Just want to know a good pokemon to catch and Train instead of Wasting more hours with catching more.

Well Digletts Cave is right in the city, so you could catch a diglett, that will be immune to the electric type attacks

Sounds Good enough. Because I Totally forgot about that Area.
Been forever since I've played my games. :| I Forget a lot about it.

Most of my Friends were saying Try and catch Something good thats a Normal Type. :P
