I was originally going to start developing my fan game in college, so that it would be easier to find help. However, I decided that I would start developing the fan game around Christmas. This is for two reasons. I don't know if Thundaga's video series is going to be on YouTube 2.5 to 3 years from now. The second reason is that I have a lot of free time due to the pandemic and that my school doesn't give a lot of homework. However, I am trying to make the music myself and make the sprites, which I'm just learning how to do so and have been practicing a bit. However, I'm having trouble coming up with some of the tracks, like the trainer battle theme and the wild Pokémon battle theme, due to there not being any apple loops that would fit for them. I have come up with the gym battle theme and some of the overworld themes. Once I get better at sprinting and learning how to make backsprites, I might be fine for sprites but I'm not sure. However, if I did need help for the sprites and the music, I don't know how a teenager would get help for developing a Pokémon fan game. What should I do? Should I wait a few years to start developing or should I start around Christmas?
