2nd Gen What should I use???

    I am going to make a Pokemon gold team to fight against my friend who also has Pokemon gold. These are the Guys and partial/full movesets I'm considering.

    • Markwak with Thick club, earthquake
    • Tyranitar

    • Hitmonlee, Endure, Reversal, (High Jump Kick? )
    • Kingdra, Ice Beam, surf

    • Machamp, cross chop
    • Lapras, Surf, Ice beam

    • Electrode, Explosion, Thunderbolt, (Mirror Coat?)
    • Kangastan

    • Jynx, Lovely kiss, (ice punch?)
    • Steelix

    • Snorlax, rest, sleeptalk, Psychic (against fighting which is good vs normal, Earthquake
    • Crobat, Confuse ray, Wing attack, Mean look, Toxic

    • Gengar, Hypnosis, (dream eater?), (shadow ball?), confuse ray
    • Starmie

    • Aerodactyl, Rock slide, earthquake
    • Jolteon, thunder wave, thunderbolt

    • Umbreon, confuse ray, attract
    • Arcanine, flamethrower

    • Typhlosion
    • Alakazam
    • Dragonite
    So if you could tell me possible teams and possible strategies about these pokemon that would be great. If there is someone I'm overlooking, pointing that out would also rock. Thanks!

    I guess marowak and hitmonlee are in contention for a physical sweeper spot so I'd like to know which one you all think is better.
    Same goes for Electrode and Jolteon.
    Again with Typhlosion and Arcanine.
    and with Gengar and Alakazam for special sweeper.
    starmie kingdra lapras for a water spot on the team.

    Look at the stats! You'll know better then!

    I did look at stats. Maybe hitmonlee and jynx aren't up to par then...
     
    do u have an idea wat type of pkmn ur friend like, if not, in my personal opinion, alakazam, snorlax, jolteon, starmie, aerodactyl, dragonite,

    alakazam, recover, psychic, shadow ball and dynamic punch
    snorlax, rest, psychic, ice beam, double edge/body slam
    jolteon, thunder, steel tail, ur pick, ur pick
    starmie, recover, hydro pump, thunderbolt, psychic
    aerodactyl, earthquake, rock slide, fire blast, fly
    dragonite, blizzard, hyper beam, outrage, fighting move or fire blast

    since ur playing gold the choices arent much, if ur friend is the battling type, he will choose strong pkmn, gyarados, tyranitar, any of the starters, rare pkmns with potentially deadly moves, if he is its gonna be an interesting match, if hes not and he battles using his favorites bc of the manga, anime this team should be more then ready. my way of battling is with speed and powerful attacks (4-6 pkmn are among the fastest pkmn up the the g/s gen). BEWARE i personally dont like using legendary pkmns in my line up, not unless its a legend royal rumble in which case its defenitely on. if he uses rare let me know and we'll help u out. peace

    hmm my personal choice

    Lapras, Dragonite, Tyranitar, Electrode, Snorlax, Alakazam

    However i dont know what lvls your pokemon are, or his or all of their attacks, but if they were my pokemon that would be my team, Dragonite + Tyranitar are dragons(if i remember correctly) and therefore have high resistance to a variety of attacks, Alakazam can learn a wide variety of attacks and is a strong psychic type which imo is a must in any team, snorlax has alot of HP and can go to sleep, and fight while sleeping making him a unique and worthy pokemon, lapras is also a must since it knows ice beam which will most likely handle any dragon types your friend might throw at ya and electrode of course to handle any of your friends ice/water types he throws at your dragons
