What was your reaction to the Pokemon Virus?

    i was like 10 when my blaziken has the pokemon virus xDD I had no idea what it was so i started freakin out and i thought my game was about to die

    what was your reaction to it?
     
    I thought "why isn't she telling me what in the world it does"? Turns out it doubles your EV gains, so no wonder my Exploud was gaining 5-6 HP per level. Even better, my internal clock was busted, so it never wore off. :)
     
    I assume you're talking about Pokerus. Anyway, mine was from a friend who traded me a Lanturn. I gotta say...I freaked out and boxed all the Pokemon that caught it. A year later, I took all the infected ones out together (so they wouldn't infect anyone else) and ran around with them until they lost it. I didn't know anything about EVs back then, so...yeah. xD

    This can go in general gaming since it technically covers generations II - IV. :3 Hope you don't mind...it'd just be a shame to let RSE hog all the Pokerus glory, non?

    I never actually got it naturally on my game. I didn't actually find our about pokerus until someone offered to trade me a pokemon with it and I had to ask what it was.
     
    It Scared me to death, I got scared and thought my pokemon were gonna i died. I must of healed them at the pokemon center like 100 times hoping the message would disappear. Than i got so scared i stopped playing for like a week. Than finally after a while i found it from a friend that it actually doubles Your EV gain or something like that and that it's not even bad.
     
    Well I heard all these rumors about a Pokemon Virus existing and how it was ultra rare making it seem unbelievable. Then one day I caught an Absol and went to the Pokemon Center, I noticed the Nurse Joy speech was a bit longer this time and noticed something different "OMG I got Pokerus"
     
    I've only had it once, when my Gold game went completely insane and glitched out. I've no idea what happened, but in the route below Eurecteak I started encountered lvl. 129 Seadra and lvl. 137 Chansey. I caught these crazy Pokemon to see what would happen, visited the Pokemon to be told my Pokemon had Pokerus - only I wasn't paying attention to what she was saying, I was just mashing A like I usually do, so I only caught the second half of the explanation and didn't know what the hell was going on. Then my game glitched out and died.
     
    I already knew about Pokerus when i first got it, so i wasn't too surprised, and i didn't really know HOW it affects the EVs, so i boxed all my Pokerus Pokemon when i EV trained something, afraid i might so something wrong with the EVs
     
    I was already well versed in its effects when I caught it in LG, so I was like, "Awesome! Now if only I had some Pokemon to EV train..."
     
    Whenever one pokemon on my team got it, I would make sure it spread to all the others and then I would take some pokemon out of my box to give them the virus. xP
    So I pretty much gave all my pokemon I owned the Pokerus...Thank god its not deadly. *whew*
     
    Once in Crystal, I went to heal at the Pokemon center. Then the Nurse Joy person said a really long speech. I thought "What? Well since she told me it doesn't do anything, I might as well keep it" and I did.

    A while after that I got a DS and it fell, causing it to break. I had no idea that my Pearl game was still in there and my file was wiped clean.

    Then, my brother was playing it and I saw his Pokemon had a small smiley face. I figured his Pokemon had caught the virus. I restarted the file and I saw some of my Pokemon had it. I still didn't know about EVs, so I didn't care.

    A while after I learned about EVs, my Lapras had caught it and I wanted to spread it as quickly as I could so some box'd Pokemon that stay in there have it.

    YAY FOR LONG STORIES. XD
     
    Ironically the first time my pokemon got pokerus was a day after I read about it online. So there wasn't any surprises for me. :(
     
    It wa sin Pearl ....
    It was a Saturday morning . My family was sleeping , I was playing Pearl and NBA Street on my PSP at the same time . I killed a Bidoof to laugh , but he kinda damaged my Luxio , so I got to heal and Joy says a fricking random thing .... Whaaat , I looked at my Luxio and it said PKRS .... wait , whaaat ? was my game broken .... but anyways I deposited my Luxio (my HM Slave Roselia was infected and I deposited her and it got on ) .

    I got it on Platinum as well (man I a lucky ) . Now I got an infected Marill and a Smoochum paralyzing in my boxes ....
     
    My brother told me that the Pokerus eventually deleted all of my pokemon so I started a new game on my Emerald even though I had a super beastly team. T-T
     
    PokeRus. It's something you shouldn't get too excited about, I just got a smile on my face and that's it really. But that has spread to nearly all of my Pokemon in my boxes now :D

    Wow. What a dick. Seriously.
     
    Maybe he didn't know what it really did.
     
    I first got it from a pokemon a friend of mine traded to me in the 3rd gen. When I was like "Hey, what does PKRS mean?" he told me it makes pokemon get better. Now I have a Ninetales that's infected and a Rayquaza that's infected. It may be more, but I can't remember..
