What are the bottom line, most basic features, you would expect when Pokemon transisions to the new generation of gaming consoles?
Graphics: Since the 3DS is capible of N64-PS2 level graphics, this is the new standard I would expect with the visuals. A 3D enviroment similar to Zelda or Kingdom Hearts, but with a walking pokemon at your side.
Game Design:
1) Replace HM moves with a different system. All water pokemon can swim, they are fish, so instead of needing a pokemon with Surf to move forward - all you need is a water pokemon. (and maybe a badge requirement.)
2) Controling pokemon directly. Where it is in battle, or in dungeons/caves, or only in special 'parks'. Just a few oppertunities to do this would provide a very refreshing change to the gameplay.
Features: Walking pokemon. There is no excuse not to include this. It is by far the most enjoyable addition to the game. While not vital to the gameplay, it has a big impact on the fun of the game.
