Whatever happened with the GS ball?

It was a plot element that was supposed to be related to Celebi, but that was dropped when they got the idea for the fourth movie.
 
Yes, there was. Now we have HG/SS versions, which are remakes G/S versions, so maybe we will have another event with GS Ball. And maybe then the writers will bring back the old history with GS Ball.

IIRC, in the show, the GS Ball was left with Kurt and then never mentioned or seen again. Seems this was intentional-so that viewers would forget about it after awhile.

Because of this, I don't think it'll ever be brought up again for the rest of the show's run.
 
Yet another anime plot hole, and one of the main reasons why so many people on SPPF hate the Jhoto arc. Best to not even be mentioned.
 
The GS ball was created thinking it would contain Celebi. After they decided to make her the star of the fourth movie, it was dropped, and never brought back up again.
 
^ Ditto she's right bout that. Though even so I still wonder what the episode with celebi would've been like if it wasn't a movie
 
Goooooooooooooooooooooood Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamns Iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit. I swear when I was a kid, they were just airing that arc. I swear I saw those episodes a hundred billion times before they just left it with kurt. I was like:

WTF WHAT HAPPENED TO THE PRETTY POKEBALL. MOMMY!!!!! (mind I was a little kid back then)

I swear out of all billions of tmes the aired it and nothing happened to it.Considering that, Im happy it was forgotten. Little piece of ball ****. Coincidentally Im a big Celebi fan and yet I hate the Celebi arc XD
 
Aye, it was just a plot device so Ash could go to the orange Island and then subsequently Johto and compete in their respective leagues.

No chance of it I know now, given how religiously the writers are avoiding making any sort of reference to the 1st/2nd generations, but it would be nice for them to explain what was in it, when the Anime ends (which may not be too far from now).
 
I had been wondering what happened to that thing. They should've known better than to think people would simply forget about it. lol

Well as it was mentioned befored, the GS ball was intended to hold a Celebi that would become a focal point in the story. However, the decision was made to make Celebi the focus of a movie so they dropped the Celebi from the show out of fear of redundency. So naturally they had to get rid of the GS ball somehow.
 
The GS Ball gave of the impression that it was a very important item.
Some even claimed that when Giovanni said to Mewtwo "I have an important task for you", Giovanni was referring to steal GS Ball.

So yeah, I can imagine everyone going WTF?! when Ash gave the GS Ball to Kurt and left.

The writers should have thought up of an alternative plot for the GS Ball instead of dumping it at Kurt's place and hope we all forget about it. That would be a waaaaaaaaay better conclusion.
