What's the rule on swearing?

I'm so confused.

Is posting a swear and having the filter block it bypassing?

That isn't bypassing, but it is frowned upon because the intention is still there. Bypassing is where you replace a character, for example "i" with "1", or use BBCode so that the filter doesn't detect your swearing. You should generally avoid using swear words in your posts at all, even if the filter transforms them into "****" or whatever.

Whatever reason you used the swear word in the first place, whether it be to insult someone, or because something angered you. If I recall correctly, you can be warned/infracted, even if the word you used gets censored in the post.

I only infract people for swearing if they bypass the censors or if they're using it as an insult to someone. That's the case from mostly all of the staff that I talk to regarding the issue.

Not every swear is directed at somebody. Also that's crazy.
