    What's with the +'s next to people's screen names? Those have always gotten me to wonder about its purpose.
     
    They are to show your contacts i believe. Like your friends and stuff.
     
    As said by Gus, they distinguish your friends from everyone else.

    Additional Information:
    Even if the people you added does not approve your friend request.. Still there is + sign on their names.. Because you added them okies.
