4th Gen When battling friends, are levels and evs automatically put to a set amount?

    Hey guys this questions been bugging me for a while; when you are about to battle a friend and say your pokemon are all level 60 and theirs are level 100, are they all preset to the same level? And are evs balanced too?
     
    There are 3 methods of play:
    Free Battle- Pokes are as they are
    Lvl 50 & Lvl 100- All pokes are made that level. EVs and IVs are factored in, but no extra Es are given. No balancing or anything happens, it just projects what they would look like at that level.
