Chapter 1: Arcain
The sun rose over the hills of the small village, it was the last village in the Anciens Region. Arcain's eyes slowly opened. He made a sickly noise, like he always did, but it was his way of waking up the residents of his tower. A few pokemon lived in the tower, not many, but a few, his best friend was the resident Bronzor, though not directly related to him, she was still his friend.
"Good morning, Bronzora." Arcain said.
"Hello, Arcain, how was your sleep?" She replied.
"Restless. I feel something is wrong with The Bell of Ages." He replied.
"You feel it too? I feel a disturbance in the tolling of the bell, Arcain." She sighed.
"What do you feel?" He asked.
"Like there is a war coming to our small village." She said.
"So, you mean, not the END?" Arcain asked.
"No, sir, I feel like that this war will cause the end." She replied.
"Dear lord, you could be on to something. The Bell of Ages must strike every day at noon or in 48 hours the world will end. Will it just be our small region's 'world' or the entire thing?" He replied.
"Probably just our Region. We are the only one with a clock like this." She said.
A small darumaka, chikorita, and glameow appeared in the belfry doorway. The glameow was the first to come in once Bronzora and Arcain acknowledged them. The small darumaka was the shy one, it did not want to come into the room, even after Chikorita had entered.
"Dilly, why won't you come in here?" The chikorita asked.
"But, Cello, its the SACRED ROOM!" Dilly said.
"Well, Dilly, please, this room may be sacred, but the guardian is in here." Chesapeake the Glameow said.
"I know Arcain of Flowers is the guardian, but, it feels wrong. I feel a sinister presence in here." Dilly said.
"Sinister presence?" Arcain asked.
"He can tell if a dark type pokemon is in the room." Chesapeake said.
"You say there is one in here right now?" Arcain asked.
"Yes sir." Dilly replied.
"Dilly, please come in here and find the pokemon." Arcain said.
"Why can't I just show myself?" The female voice asked.
"Who are you?" Arcain asked.
"I am Leafingo, Secret Guardian of the Tower. I was chosen long ago, in secret, to guard this tower. Arcain here, was not allowed to know about me. Now, I must reveal myself, times are tough now, and I fear the bell may be close to predicting the end." She said.
"Where is your proof? Tell me the secret code!" Arcain said.
"Le code secret est d'être un avec la cloche." Leafingo replied in French.
"Oui, c'est vrai." Arcain replied.
"So, its true?" Dilly asked.
"Yes, it is." Arcain replied.
Dilly, Chesapeake, and Cello left the room, Leafingo, Arcain, and Bronzora were left. The belfry was quiet, except for the quiet chirps of the sleeping woobats, swoobats, and zubats. Leafingo explained that she had been here for ages, approximately three hundred years prior to Arcain's arrival in 950 AD, when the tower turned exactly four hundred years old. Leafingo said she had watched Arcain grow from a young bronzor to what he was now. Arcain had wondered what she had done when he was sleeping, but he did not want to ask that, for fear it could ruin any friendship they could have. The hour of 12 began to come closer and closer as they began to talk. By the time they looked out over their village it was 11:59. Arcain floated up to her face, showing her his mouth and as the bell began to toll, faintly, they began to kiss, or at least what they could do that counted as a kiss. The bell's sound terrified them, it also brought about the humans coming out of their homes and shouting things like 'what's going on with the tower?', 'is the bell dying?', and some other things. Arcain and Leafingo looked at each other and then at Bronzora. Bronzora looked the most scared, as she was the youngest and had no clue what was going on.
"It really is the end... soon." Arcain said.
"It is... this cannot be. I've guarded this tower for 1,361 years, how can this be?" She said.
"If you've guarded for 1,361 years, then I've guarded for 1,061 years." Arcain whispered.
"Well, we must prepare, I sense what Bronzora was talking about." Leafingo said.
"Can the humans even understand us?" Arcain asked.
"No, but their pokemon can." Leafingo said.
"What can I do to help?" Bronzora asked.
"Alert all the pokemon here in the Allô Clocktower, okay?" Leafingo replied.
"Okay." Bronzora said and flew off.
Leafingo and Arcain began to plan their battle strategy. How could they protect the tower? The tower was the only thing that could keep the Anciens Region from falling into complete chaos and discord. Leafingo was the one that flew down to the town center and called out for all the pokemon who immediately appeared. She warned of the oncoming battle, and they agreed that they should protect the small village. Leafingo flew back to the clock tower where the pokemon of the tower stood ready for her orders. She decided to let Bronzora be their leader. Though she thought; "What could we pokemon do against an evil army? Can we win? I hope so."
The sun sat over the small village as the pokemon were planning, they had 48 hours to prepare. Litwicks floated around the belfry as the pokemon began sketching out schematics. Within a few hours most of the pokemon had fallen asleep, including Arcain. They were ready, hopefully.
Chapter 2: Of Steel and Fire
Only a few hours had passed when they woke up to hear a crackling noise outside. It wasn't the tower that was on fire, but most of the village. Arcain flew down, as he had the ability heatproof, which meant the fire would barely affect him compared to usual. Arcain signaled two pidgeots to fly over and put out the fires. Down in the village streets he saw something moving. This thing was red, gray, and looked to be spouting fire.
"Signal of the Apocalypse one.... HEATRAN!" Arcain yelled.
"How many signals are there?" A pidgeot asked.
"Five. Heatran... Registeel... Entei... Zapdos... Landorus. Fire/Steel.... Steel... Fire... Thunder... Ground." Arcain said.
Arcain flew down to Heatran and tried to persuade him that the bell had rung, as it did, but only faintly. Heatran ignored Arcain and used lava plume. Parts of the town became covered in lava, thus forcing Leafingo to fly out of the tower and use her move Dark Void, this put the Heatran to sleep.
"Sleep tight... don't let the nightmare bugs bite." She laughed.
"That will only buy us some time." Arcain said.
"Enough time or just a little?" She replied.
"I'm not sure." Arcain said flying off.
With half of the village totaled, there was nowhere to hide, except for the tower tiself, the only building left standing. Every human of the town had died, was this the prophecy so long forgotten? Arcain remembered the story from when he was a young bronzor:
"When the town is gone, and the first signal is through... the world will end, in a blazing fire, the sky no longer blue."
These words made Arcain sick to his inner-chamber. Leafingo flew over to him to see what was wrong, and he repeated the story, she too had a bad feeling. Over the hills a fire could be seen, a dark red fire. A howl screeched from the other side of the hills, a large volcano appeared and erupted.
"The second signal... its here... ENTEI." Arcain said.
Chapter 3: The Volcano Hound's Call
Only minutes had passed since the volcano had erupted, the hound was on the move and everyone could see it. All of the pokemon in the army gathered out front of the burning village to stand their ground. Entei stopped in front of them and roared, the volcano erupted again.
"Leave now and none of you shall die!" Entei yelled.
"But, Entei, you are supposed to be a signal of the end for everyone, why would you let us go free?" Arcain replied.
"I am the signal of the end of the clock tower, Arcain!" Entei said.
"Then what was Heatran?" Arcain replied.
"Heatran was the end of a village." Entei said.
"And how do you know my name?" Arcain said.
"That is simple, seeing as I am a harbinger of Arceus, I am a minor god in my own, therefore I can know everything." It replied.
"So that's it, this is the end of everything?" Arcain replied.
"No, not everything, just those pathetic humans!" Entei yelled.
"Why do you want the humans to die?" Arcain asked.
"Humans are pathetic! They think we're their friends. Like my lord said: First Ash Ketchum, then the world!" Entei said.
"Who?" Bronzora asked.
"No importance now, the boy is dead." Entei laughed.
Arcain used flash cannon on the Entei, he knew it was useless to use steel type moves, but he had to slow him down. Entei's friendly demeanor turned into an anger that they had never seen before. Entei rushed at them and tried using crunch on Arcain, though it proved to be a useless attack, it only damaged Entei's teeth. Leafingo used her signature Dark Void, but this time it missed. Another roar came from behind them, it was the Heatran, it was waking up.
"Heatran! I need your help!" Entei yelled.
"Yes sir!" Heatran yelled back.
Heatran and Entei were both ready for a fight. This was the time for Arcain's ability to shine, Heatproof was a good ability to have in a time like this. Arcain's body danced around and signaled the rain to come, this helped them in their battle. Arcain's flash cannon repeatedly attacked Entei, and then Leafingo attacked with dark pulse. Entei was getting weaker by the moment and Heatran was just getting stronger, like Entei was giving its energy for Heatran. Entei fell to the ground and faded, it had given its energy up. The pokemon were extremely scared, they didn't want to die.
"STOP!" Arcain yelled.
"Why should I?" The mixture of Entei and Heatran's voice spoke.
"Because, you want the tower, not us." Arcain yelled.
"True." It replied.
"Then get the tower, but its not here anymore. That tower is a decoy." Arcain replied.
"Where is it?" It replied.
"That way." Arcain said pointing towards West Village.
"Thank you for your help." It said.
The creature walked away, apparently it was that stupid to believe that they weren't lying. Arcain was scared, he knew Registeel would be coming next, a pokemon of his own type. Could they defeat him? If Arcain, Leafingo, and Bronzora couldn't, they had Dilly. Pillars of steel began to rise up in the distance. The large metallic creature was seated on it.
The sun rose over the hills of the small village, it was the last village in the Anciens Region. Arcain's eyes slowly opened.
