I've been trying to build a couple of really simple decks for my two kids (9 & 11) for them to play with in school. I know that these aren?t championship decks or anything but they should be better than the two preconstructed ones they have now: EX Fire Red & EX Hidden Legends ? Make a Wish. I?d like your insights as to which one of these is actually the strongest. I?m guessing the one based on Hidden Legends.

    Deck 1:

    Pokemon 20

    4 dunsparce ss
    2 wynaut ss
    2 Wobuffet ss
    3 staryu hl
    3 starmie hl
    3 clamperl hl
    3 gorebyss hl

    Trainers 20

    3 Life Herb
    3 Stevens advice
    1 Celios Network
    4 Professor Oak's Research
    3 Copycat
    4 Bills Maintanance
    2 TV Reporter

    Energy 20

    12 Psychic
    8 Water

I have a Jirachi hl that we could throw in there if that?s a good idea?

    Deck 2:

    Pokemon: 21

    3 Krabby fr
    3 dunsparce ss
    3 Growlithe fr
    2 Pidgey fr
    3Kingler fr
    3Arcanine fr
    2 Pidgeotto fr
    2Pidgeot

    Trainers: 21

    3 Bills Maintanance
    3 prof oaks research
    3 stevens advice or copycat
    3Celios Network
    3 warp point
    4 Life Herb
    2 high pressure system

    Energy: 18

Actually, the Wish Maker theme deck is a very nice base to build a deck off of. Here's what I'd do to Wish Maker...

    Pokemon (24):
    2 Wynaut
    2 Wobbuffet
    4 Dunsparce
    4 Beldum
    3 Metang
    3 Metagross
    3 Clamperl
    3 Gorebyss

    Trainers (22):
    3 Steven
4 Bill's Maintenance or TV Reporter
2 Oak's Research or Copycat or Rocket's Admin
    3 Dual Ball
    3 Celio's Network
    3 Rare Candy
    2 ATMRock
    2 Desert Ruins

    Energy (14):
    4 Metal
4 Double Rainbow (quickie Gorebyss powerups)
    6 Psychic

Fair and balanced, shall we say?

The other deck, there's no real need for Herb, and a great need for speed Trainers, such as Rare Candy, or disruption Trainers, such as ATMRock. Consider putting those in there.
