Which Pokemon game should i play now?

Hello all Pokemon fans, I'm playing Pokemon Red (original) over the emulator (unfortunately) and I'm close to the end, so i just wanted to ask you a question: which Pokemon game should i play after i finish Pokemon Red? Should i play a generation II Pokemon game, or should i play another version of generation I?

Move on to Gold, Silver, or Crystal. You'd essentially be playing the same thing if you played another generation I game. It's best to just go in generational order tbh. Good luck! And please use the Q&A thread next time you have a question. They're in each specific gaming forum here.
