4th Gen Which starter should I pick?

Hey guys, before I start my game, I need advice on which starter to pick, I'm torn between Turtwig and Piplup. Turtwig is more fancy to me and all that, and I've thought of a great nickname for it when it evolves, but Piplup's evolution being half steel, and Turtwig's being half ground, Piplup has much better defenses. I need help assessing the available Pokémon in the game to decide which I should choose.

honestly... go for the one you like the looks of...... each of the starters come in handy at a point in the game...

I chose piplup because when it evolves into Empoleon, it becomes Water\Steel.... great tank... great defenses, and decent movepool.

If you want an easy time, Piplup is the way to go. Chimchar can get very powerful but it hard to use at the beginning.

If you have a friend, get all three. Start a new game, trade the starter, then repeat until he has two of the starters. Then have him trade them over to your game. That's what I did. :)

If you're very lonely, then just pick Chimchar. Fire types aren't very common in this game.

As Harwinder said, there've been millions of threads like this. Either about what people chose, about people's favorites, or about what to choose. Seriously, starters are up to you. I survived without a Fire-type. They won't really affect much in the rest of the game.
