Which would you rather get bitten by? Granted, we don't want any of these things to bite us, but which would you rather get bitten by, the Brown Recluse, or the Black Widow?

[PokeCommunity.com] Which would you rather get bitten by?

    Black Widow

-Venom is 15 times as poisenous of that of the rattlesnake.
    -Venom is neurotoxic.
-Belongs to the genus responsible for the most deatrhs in humans by spider bite.
-Symptons of spider bite incluse muscle pain, cramps, vommitting and nausea, and difficulty in breathing.
-In very rare cases, death is a result.

    Brown Recluse

    -Venom is necrotic
    -Bite goes very deep
-Bites have a very wide range of synptoms.
-Bites may cause severe dermonecrotic lesions.
-In rare cases, organ can be damaged.
-Venom destroys tissue that can take monthes to heal, leaves deep scarring.
-Death has been reported in children under 7, and in elderly people.

What would you rather be bitten by?

I'd take the widow over the recluse anyday. First off, the widow may have big scary venom and unpleasent synptoms, but I'd take cramps over destruction of tissue any day. The widow doesn't inject as much venom as a rattlesnake would and that is why rattlesnakes tend to be more dangerous. BEsides, the widow's venom can be cured rather fast if tended to immediatly. Recluse may takes monthes to heal.

If you wanna see a recluse wound, click on spoiler, but do not look i f you are easily disgusted in any way. It's an extreme recluse bit, but is still a rather horrific picture, and very disgusting.
    Spoiler:

Oh my God, I hate all spiders. I'm terrified of the, arachnaphobic is me. I'll take the widow.

Well, in most cases, bites from both spiders rarely result in death, and seeing how you can treat the Widow's venom if immediate care is provided, then I'd rather be bitten by a Black Widow. Necrotic tissue isn't something I'd like to live with for an extended period of time. The effects of a neurotoxin aren't any picnic, but seeing how the symptoms only last for a short period of time versus months (and possibly years) of scarring, it sounds like it would be worse to be bitten by a Brown Recluse.

    In short, Black Widow.

Can I get bitten by a money spider instead? D: They're cute. XD Ehh. I'm put off by the 'breathing difficulties' from the widow (yeah, it's wrong to think of pros of being bitten by a venomous spider XD), but I think I'm going to have to go with the widow- even though the recluse bite isn't that bad looking (I've seen worse), I wouldn't want one. XD

... Thanks for the nightmares, by the way. XD

Brown Recluses are native to where I live, so I've seen what they can do when they have bitten you.

Your skin starts to turn green and eventually 'dissolves' away. Like you said it takes months for the skin to heal back completely.

In short - Brown Recluse. Screw the muscle pain and cramps. Had enough of that last night.

Not only is the Black Widow Spider not only is my most avoided creature, the other being Jigsaw, it sickens me when I see one.

I've seen that pic. before, but I have seen worse. I would pick the Brown Recluse. If you know me in real life, then you'll know that I have more chance of being shot down than being bitten than a spider.

Whoa...Just by looking at that guy's hand, I'll pick the black widow any day of the week. That is just....Nasty. O_______O

Although either one would suck. I hate spiders more than anything >.<

Thanks. Now I'm wearing a skin tight shirt so a recluse can't get in and bit me seventeen times all night long.

I'll probably go with the widow. At least I wouldn't have any permanent organ damage if I survived.

You do know that spiders just don't bite you out of nowhere, right? It takes a lot to make a spider bite you. You'd actually have to agitate it and piss it off to no end for it to actually bite you. A large majority of spiders are this way. How do I know this?

I used to study spiders when I was little. It's quite paying off now.

So in other words, spiders just don't bite humans because they want to. They're actually scared of humans. They don't want anything to do with us, and most of us want anything to do with them. So really, as long as we don't bother them, we're totally fine.

But if I had to pick a choice, it's black widow. Though there's practically no chance of being bitten by a black widows here because they aren't really native here anyway. Not only that, you'd have to purposely agitate it in order for it to bite you. And I believe it's sort of aggressive too, though I can't completely recall.

Yes I do know that spiders don't justbite people out of no where.
I know it takes an aweful lot to get a spider to bite you.
I know spiders aren't out to get you in your sleep.
And Yes I know spiders ar emore afraid of us than we are of them, let's face it, WE'RE HUGE!

However I also know that I can ask which you would rather get bittne by if you just so happened to be an idiot and actually piss off one of them to get it to bite you.

I really hope that because I put up stats on their venom and the fact that I picked two venomous spiders to do a poll on, doesnt automatically earns me the title of spider hater or whatever. I can live with spiders.

However when it comes to a black widow living under my computer table, it's not a welcome guest (true story that actually happened about a week ago...still creeps me out).

I'd have to say, black widow, because death is mostly rare on there part. apparently. but anyway, i wouldn't go anywhere near one. I'ms eriously arachnaphobic, I freeze up, start getting slightly sweaty, i can't even got o bed at nigh, if there's a spider anywhere i can see it

well, i'd rather get bitten by none of them, but i guess i'd go with a black widow. i hate spiders.

    Ahhh!

The big brown one looks scary. I'll have the black one. Of corse If I was really in the
Situation live, I would either; Run, Or Run.

I would get bitten by the Black Widdow. :nervous:

    [neither]

    ^^Is that an option?

If not, I'll take the widow, as it can be easily cared for, and they are more common where I live.

    Of course. The Black Widow!

Chances are you will get bitten by a male one anyways and it will not even affect you at all.

Sorry, but you never specified gender. :D. Game Over Rover.

I've seen pictures of what a Brown Recluse can do to you, and it's freaking nasty. I'd go with the Black Widow any day.

Errr. . Neither? I'm kind of allergic to spiders, making their poison act a whole hell of a lot quicker on me. . >.>
