When FR/LG first came out, there was the TV commercial for the wireless adapter that came with the games. Two kids were walking on a bridge and began battling from oppisite ends. Anybody else thing, OMG! So cool!
But then, who ever really did that?

I was taking a break from pokemon when FR/LG came out so I didn't see those commercials, but that does sound really cool.

The concept was cool in theory, but the limited range of the adapter meant that you most likely knew who was in the Union Room with you. So much for "meeting new friends." Thankfully, Wi-Fi in fourth gen accomplished what the wireless adapter attempted to do (and failed).

I remember. Unfortunately, I was a lonely little kid and had no friends to use it with, so I just stuck to my link cable and traded with myself. C:

Yea. Wi-Fi most def. brought a more realistic way to battle anybody, anywhere.

But I always thought it'd be cooler using the adapter, if you were at, I guess a pokemon local tourney, where a buncha trainers get together and battle from across the room with those. But that never happened here, so i guess I have to settle for Wi-Fi

i dont remember the commercial, but i remember seeing the FR/LG adds in magazines. i think i still have my wireless adapter, only one though :[ cause i bought firered a year after i got leafgreen and it didnt come with the wireless adapter.

I remember that and I saw the Nidorino vs Gengar and I thought Pokemon battles had evolved that much since Ruby/Sapphire. Stupid me didn't realize it was the intro.

I think I remember that commercial. When I was going around in the union room and they said I could meet people I don't know I thought they meant like online play or something and thought WOOT! I was pretty disappointed to find out my competition for Pokemon master was limited to my little brother and my friend next door.

Remembered it, and knew that it didn't matter, since I didn't live near anyone that played pokémon.

    Awww..So cute..(and kinda sad somehow. xD ).

Yeah about the commercial. They make commercials to make the items (as of now its pokemon FR/LG) to costumers seem 'cool' so more peoples would buy it. But when you buy that item its not really that 'cool' as you thought it was. Well..Thats the world, Thats what peoples do;)
