why are threads are locked?

    so a few threads have been locked and i have no idea why they were where can i find the rules on locked threads?
     
    There's a majority of different reasons as to why they're locked. To see why in particular, we post a closing message explaining why they're locked. As for the reason we lock threads it's either because further replies are unnecessary, it fits somewhere else or the thread is spammy in general. Locking prevents people from replying and thus prevents pointless discussion that can lead to nothing good, basically. It just depends on the reason, really.
     
    In addition if your own thread is locked and you're not sure why, feel free to pm the moderator that locked it for a more in-depth explanation. :)
