Here is a few Q & my A's I want you to copy the questions and post your own answers.... please! :)

    Questions:

    1. Do you think that the games posted more often are beyond the creators skill lv so they aren't finished because lack of help?

    2. Do you think when people post their opinions they are too harsh and make the creator just give up?

    3. Do you think the quality of games posted in both the showcase and drawing board is getting worse and this is the reason for unfinished games?

    4. Do you think that people should try to be a little more supportive to new ideas and show some mercy whtn posting feedback especially on projects in the drawing board?

    5. Do you think that members who criticise games should do more to help rather than just post criticism?

    6. Do you think the reason most people never complete a game is cause they cant find graphics or resources?

    7. Do you think games are never finished because lack of time and people just dont feel like finishing it when they have free time?

    8. Do you think the SDK is too buggy and lackluster and that is why games never get finished?

    Answers:

    1. Yes I have seen this happen way too much.
    2. Of course their is times I wanted to say just forget it you ungreatful little B**** but I know people are just trying to help
    3. Somewhat, but not really.
    4. Well I'm sure they could but I doubt it will happen.
    5. Yes especially when they are rude and bash something they could never do.
    6. Not at all if you cant find graphics or resources you shouldn't even be messing with PE
    7. Yes I am kinda dealing with this problem, well I do work on it in my free time still. but their are days I just dont feel like it.
    8. Not at all, ok maybe it can be buggy but there is no way its lackluster of course it can be improved greatly but it is a SDK its ment to get you on your feet...

Well these are just a few things that I have been thinking about for awhile feel free to add more or just post whats on your mind... Also I am hoping people copy the questions and post their own answers to them. anyways thanks for reading...

    Jumping in

So you say you learn faster by jumping in and you'll learn by just making your dream 3D MMOFPSRTSRPG and you'll just pick up what you need as you need it. Well here's a guide to help you along your way:
    1. Go to your local market.
    2. Buy a whole fish. Salmon or Cod is recommended but even a Catfish will do.
    3. Go home and turn on your computer.
    4. Start up your IDE of choice.
    5. Now take that fish you bought and smack yourself in the head with it.
    6. Repeat step 5 until thought of "jumping in" leaves your mind.
You didn't learn algebra by doing calculus problems. You learned the fundamentals and then built on them. The same goes with game programming. If you're looking for a shortcut I'm here to tell you there aren't any. Don't rush yourself, learn the basics and build on them. Otherwise you're going to crash and burn.

What the hell david this was a serious topic... Quit that out in my topics...
That was a serious response my man, like what you wrote in your post, people tend to be way over their heads with this stuff, even with all the help from the starter kit and RPG Maker. People need to get their feet wet with development and stuff, not jumping right into a big project. Yes my quote was silly, but it does get to the point... People need to get their feet wet and start with the fundamentals, like pong or something, you don't learn calculus before trig, and trig before algebra, and algebra before elementary math

I get what ur saying but the best way to learn is by example so the kit is a good starting point if ur willing to learn and make it an advanced SDK. But I want people's own thoughts on why they think games don't get finished. I'd also like people to answer the questions with their own answers.

    I talked about this before.
I don't want to see threads like this started because we all know your not looking for an answer. It just becomes a flame war.
If you are, it's cause they are hobbies. We are not committed to making a game.
