Why Does Ash Not have any "Mystical" Pokemon

So, by mystical I mean ghost, dark, psychic and any other type that fits in that category.

He owned a Haunter for like two episodes. He owns several Pokemon with dark as a secondary, but that's it. So, do you think Ash ever will? Also, which Pokemon do you think Ash owns that will never evolve?

This is a thread I'm reviving. I went dead about a year ago. I don't believe there has been a new thread for it since so, sorry if I break any rules mods.

I consider secondary types just as important as primary, so Ash has owned a few Dark types. Those mystic Pokémon seem op in the anime, mainly because Psychic types can do whatever they want with Psychic and Psybeam, and Ghost types have access to other dimensions. They are the types of Pokémon that I think would be hard to train and make Ash way too strong. Ash is more of a physical battler so it makes sense that he stays away from Psychic and Ghost types. I don't think the lack of ownership will last forever, though. It wouldn't surprise me if Ash caught one of those types during the XY series.
