1st Gen Why is my OT listed this way?

    In my yellow version i have a pokemon with the OT listed as, PkMn Champ. Who is that and why is it like that? Thanks.
     
    If I'm not mistaken, it's because that Pokemon was on your team when you defeated the Champion. As a side note: what is this Pokemon that you're talking about? I'm curious.

    Golduck. I received it in a trade with a friend. He's level 100 and I was wondering why it didn't have his name or my name as the OT.
