If anybody has experience with using Xilisoft Video Converter, I do need some help:

Whenever I try to convert a .mkv file to a .avi file, the video seems to convert just fine but the audio is too slow. How can I get the audio up to normal speed?

Why would you want to? MKV is awesome, and AVI is horrible. If you can't play them, use CCCP.

If you really want to convert them, demux using mkvtoolnix and then encode the streams as avi using mencoder. Even that will lose you some quality, though, because again: avi sucks.
