Since I'm planning to construct a dragon lockdown deck, I'm starting to think about the top tiers, and I also fear the occasional anti-dragon deck. I'm (maybe!) gonna join a tournament (just for the fun of it, don't really approve of the competitive people who go all "Oh! *insert monster here* is sooooo weak!!!111 Ur a noob!!111" rather join the occasional Pokemon TCG tournament) and I'm also a VERY weak duelist at heart.

So in short, can a dragon lockdown deck be able to take down MOST of the top tier decks in tournaments? If so, what cards do you reccomend?

Allright first of all, Dragon Lockdown is pretty old, but if you make it right it can take on a lot of stuff. Seriously, at my locals no one ever says that kind of stuff. If you were a true YGOer, than you'd know some of the weakest monsters actually help. (gadgets, dandy., etc.). Sorry if I'm being harsh but it's true. I think what you need is to add some good strong DEF Dragon monsters that can stall w/ good effects such as "nothing else can be selected as an attack target", etc. Really no other way to help you here. I suggest buying the two Dragon Structure decks available and then editting it from there.

And sometimes your locals might not even have T1 decks. If you go to a card shop/comic shop for tournaments/trades, ask around and see what other people run as decks, and then find cards that can counter that deck type. Now, for a lockdown deck, you should get cards like Swords of Revealing Light, Level Limit - Area B, and Gravity Bind. But make sure that these cards are a +1 for you and -1 for the foe, not the other way around. To make sure you get the +1, don't run too many high-level monsters so that you can still attack. Also, you can put in Lightning Vortex to clear his field and chip at his/her LP while they are locked down. A good deck of lockdown also, in my opinion, has some burn cards to take the foe down quicker, before they topdeck cards like MST and Heavy Storm that will destroy your lockdown cards.

I guess that's it. Good luck and happy dueling! Sorry about tl;dr.
