Avalanche of Blades - 40 cards [Adv]

    Monsters - 24

    3 X-Saber Airbellum
    3 XX-Saber Emmersblade
    3 XX-Saber Faultroll
    3 XX-Saber Darksoul
    2 XX-Saber Fulhelmknight
    2 XX-Saber Ragigura
    2 XX-Saber Boggart Knight
    2 XX-Saber Gardestrike
    1 X-Saber Palomuro
    1 X-Saber Pashuul
    1 Rescue Cat
    1 Morphing Jar

    Spells - 7
    2 Saber Slash
    1 Brain Control
    1 Mind Control
    1 Heavy Storm
    1 Mystical Space Typhoon
    1 Foolish Burial

    Traps - 9
    3 Gottoms' Emergency Call
    2 Bottomless Trap Hole
    2 Saber Hole
    1 Mirror Force
    1 Torrential Tribute

    Extra Deck - 15

    1 Armory Arm
    1 Black Rose Dragon
1 Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier
    1 Colossal Fighter

    2 Stardust Dragon
    2 XX-Saber Gottoms
    2 XX-Saber Hyunlei

After extended persuasion from friends at school in the form of repeated beatings from a Quickdraw Dandywarrior hybrid deck, I've decided to enter the tier 1 decks scene again... (the deck I was running before this was some kind of Fortune Ladies/Arcanite Magician hybrid that focused on beating everyone down speedily, but that's over now) with X-Sabers! (Godawful expensive X-Sabers... at least they're cheaper than Infernities. >> ...other than the Emmersblades, that is...)

So I've done a bit of playtesting with this deck already. I feel that it needs One For One... but where?

    Tentative Side Deck - 15
    2 Pulling the Rug
    2 Mirror of Oaths (Oats? >: )
    2 Nobleman of Crossout
    2 Starlight Road
    2 Malevolent Catastrophe
    2 Light-Imprisoning Mirror
    2 Shadow-Imprisoning Mirror
    1 Soul Release

I still need help with the side deck, honestly. Against fellow X-Sabers decks (mirror match) or game 2 or 3 against other decks they tend to play Gottoms' Emergency Call on MY Sabers, which gets me angry.. :x

Suggestions? Comments? Fiery insults and/or personal attacks? Please post!

(Er, maybe not the last part...)

Seriously, this deck looks really solid already. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if this wins a Regional or something. Anyways, I do have a few suggestions.

-1 Emmersblade I believe 3 is overkill even though it's an overpowered card.
-1 Pashuul Unless this has proved to work, take it out.

Also, has Morphing Jar worked? Because I've heard that Morphing Jar slows Sabers down. (I dunno O_o) Anyways, for the side deck:

+1 System Down - Very good against Machina and it's variants.
    +1 Cyber Dragon
+2 Crevice from a Different Dimension - Much better then anything related to it
+1 Corridor of Agony - Pretty obvious.
    -1 Soul Release
-1 Mavolent Catastrophe & Mirror Of Oaths

Hope this helps! I'm obviously not surperior to you but nontheless I wanted to give my two cents. Happy dueling!

This decks sucks I don't see a winged kuriboh anywhere >:(...no I'm kidding xD. Looks pretty epic in my eyes as well as extremely expensive D:.

But yeah it looks solid. I would get pounded into a pulp with this deck :'[.

Aaaaah! Yes, yes. I knew I had forgotten some key sideboard cards...

Fail. >_< Machina Gadgets are annoying. Corridor of Agony on GladBeasts are painful.

    Side deck edit time~

Well, I used to run 2 Emmersblade once upon a time - but it appears that 3 is more consistent. (It's like Giant Rat, Flying Kamakiri, etc - you want to run 3 for it to be effective, and it's an X-Saber). I cut a copy of Fulhelmknight for Pashuul because the main purpose of Fulhelmknight is to stall, and Pashuul does it better.

Morphing Jar is decent enough even though it slows me down and is a dead draw sometimes as a hand replenisher and in the middle of Faultroll - Gottoms looping is devastating indeed. I'm not tempted to run 1-4-1 over it too much yet, so we'll see. I'm still playtesting it, after all. I'll report back with results! :)

    Ok, let's do this.

GARDESTRIKE IS OFFICIALLY CRAP. DO NOT RUN IT.

Morphing Jar is far too slow.

    Changes to maindeck...

    -2 XX-Saber Gardestrike
    -1 Morphing Jar

    +2 Book of Moon
    +1 One For One

These are more useful, I think. Morphing Jar is pretty cool, but the cards I'm adding are probably cooler. Book stops crucial OTKs, One For One is awesome - it fetches Ragigura and hasn't afraid of anything, and speeds up my playing speed immensely (much more consistent Faultroll loop = increased win-rate). Pashuul is definitely not bad at all and has prevented some crucial, crucial game losses against a fully swinging board. Emmersblade does much the same, fetching my Pashuul to serve the same end.

I feel that the tier 1 meta right now is just X-Sabers and Infernities, plus Machina Gadgets and _maybe_ Quickdraw Dandywarrior, and some builds of Gladiator Beasts are also very very good. Blackwings aren't much of a threat to this deck other than random Icarus attack in the middle of a combo, which makes me extremely sad sometimes, but this is why we have Hyunlei, right? Right? =D

Quite. I like the edits. I knew Morphing Jar was too slow. HAHAHA! XD

You are forgetting monarchs. Book is god in this format.

Caius is quite a bastard (ingloriously?).

Other than that I need to see some actual decent monarch builds that stand up against Infernities. :x
