Welcome to the Mist Valley, Ninja Lockdown Deck.

How does it work + combos. (Click to see cards)
Summon Hanzo > search Ninjustu Art of Transformation > Set > Opponents standby phase > Activate Transformation, tribute Hanzo > Special summon Dark Simorgh.

White Dragon Ninja + Safe Zone = White Dragon Ninja + backrow can't be destroyed.

Dark Simorgh + Anti Spell Fragrance = Opponent can't set monster, spell and trap cards and can't play spell cards due to anti spell fragrance.

Mist Valley Falcon + Safe Zone = Equip Safe Zone to opponents monster, declare attack with Falcon, send Safe Zone back to my hand, effect of safe zone destroys monster, attack different target/life points.

This is such a fun deck to play with and it is VERY consistent, thanks to Hanzo and him being epic, grabbing the ninjitsu art cards.

It is very annoying to just have Simorgh out, as I stop their traps! :)

Looks solid mate. Got no real suggestions for you.

    Cheers Drakow.

Oh, if anyone was wondering, King Tiger Wangu is mained because it kills Insektors instantly, but this deck also gets hurt since they can get around the effect of Anti Spell, since they are a monster effect on activation, then they turn to a spell.

I did think it was odd but then I was like "probably for the Inzektor matchup" and looking at the list I could see how they could provide some trouble for you.

Hard counters are generally sided though. Versatility is usually preferred for the main board so I would consider taking it out for a third Veiler or a Fiendish Chain as both can hurt Inzektors anyway. Fiendish Chain also synergizes well with the whole protection theme you got going on and it can be reused with Mist Valley dudes.

    Way ahead of you.
I am trying to figure out where I can fit those 2 extra spaces.
I would also like to try and fit in another Pot of Duality, because I hardly do any special summoning in my turn.

    +1 Pot of Duality
    +2 Fiendish Chain

    -1 Book of Moon
    -2 ????????

    So difficult! D:

Side the Wanghu in my opinion. So that leaves one more card . . .

Starlight road is what comes to mind. I just don't like the card personally, though I am aware there is Dark Hole, Heavy Storm, two Torrential Tributes and Mirror Force.

So I made the changes, but I am at 43 and it feels painful to be that high; I hate going over 42. :(
BUT I CAN'T FIND ANYTHING TO TAKE OUT.

I was thinking making Mist Valley Falcon to 2, but adding in 2 Fiendish Chains gives it 5+ main targets to bounce. :(

45 cards according to my calculations - you have 20 monsters. From your list, remove the Wanghu and side it. I think you're trying to do too much with the Ninja Transformation Art cards. I would focus on either Simorgh or White Dragon Ninja. That should sort things out.

Sorry, I took book of moon out too.

Mhmm, I have been thinking that. They both work REALLY well, but the Simorgh and Anti Spell work much better, as it cuts out, normally, half of your opponents deck and it much easier to lock down than White Dragon Ninja. However, having that ability to scare my opponent into taking their monster, makes them have to play around it. If I dropped Super-Transformation and White Dragon Ninja to 1, it might help. It doesn't make it pointless, because I can search for Super-Transformation really easily with all the Hanzo love.

Well I suppose you could remove anti spell fragrance, i.e place less emphasis on the Simorgh lock. Then I would remove Starlight Road and put the deck at 40, but that's just me.

Well, Simorgh lock NEEDS anti spell, because then it stops them using their Spells, as well as traps because they can't set them.
Starlight road has saved my ass so much I want to keep it in.

Might test tonight seeing how 1 WDN and 1 Super transformation work.

Yes but I was saying to place less emphasis on the lock and to have Simorgh as a tech choice. Sort of use him as a beater like in Chaos Dragons how they just drop all these Light Pulsar / Darkflare dragons. I would just focus on the White Ninja lock and run Simorgh as a tech.

Why not play Apex Avian? Hanzo -> Transformation -> Avian is really good. Trying to focus on Simorgh - Antispell lockdown is kinda pointless because REDMD stomps all over it (lol 100 more ATK).

I wouldn't run both Transformation and Super-Transformation in the same deck - it stretches the cards too thin (remember that they're both, you know, -1s...)

Super Transformation is technically a neutral trade off because you take one of your opponent's monsters too but I still agree with you. You're stretching yourself too thin by using both and I did say that earlier.

Why not play Apex Avian? Hanzo -> Transformation -> Avian is really good. Trying to focus on Simorgh - Antispell lockdown is kinda pointless because REDMD stomps all over it (lol 100 more ATK).

I have other support against REDMD; it is unlikely I will have the simorgh lock with no support.

Also, might be because I am under the weather, but how is Avian better than Simorgh? It also has 100 less attack and a less useful effect, in my opinion. Sure, it bounces itself but then you have a open field.

It is just a personal preference that I prefer the lock; it hasn't let me down yet and I have gone against Hieratics and Chaos Dragons.

Avian has equal attack to Simorgh, actually, and better defense. You can bounce Mist Valley cards that aren't itself, you know (really good for lockdown) - the only weakness is it can't use its effect more than once in a chain (iirc), similar to LaDD. It negates stuff, and it should be evident how that's OP. If you go into Apex Avian you're going to be running Divine Wind, and Divine Wind provides a source of constant swarming and negation power (since its effect is a Quick effect, lol).

Sorry, I should have made that clearer, it still has 100 less than REDMD.

Indeed, Divine Wind would be useful, but I just think it isn't as good as the Simorgh lock, in my opinion. :/

Though Apex Avian cannot negate inherent summon effects, it has good attack and negates most any other sort of effect - your defensive Spells / Traps come into play here, and Apex Avian's effect /can/ be activated during the Damage Step (to negate opposing Lance et cetera). Finally, Thunderbird allows you to keep basically a hard effect-lock on the field (as long as they don't chain effects).

Simorgh lock is decent, but Anti-Spell Fragrance is not easy to fetch and it doesn't stop any kind of monster effects whatsoever, which is its fatal flaw.

    Fair enough.
I guess I just prefer Simorgh.

Also, was at locals yesterday and made a couple of changes and also updated first post with a deck profile. :)
