Something to this effect is what I'll probably be rock and rolling with for the new format. I did try a build with Van'Dalgyon and Dark Illusion (the idea behind Dark Illusion was to negate the Veiler or Book of Moon used to thwart the Junk Synchron play) thrown into the mix, but I've found that many times when I could get a Van'Dalgyon drop, KM Drago was on the field. It became so depressing that I decided that my beloved Van'Dalgyon should probably take a back seat for the time being. Cards like Vice Dragon and The Dark Creator are not hindered so much by Drago in general as both require an empty field to be special summoned - hence Drago cannot be on the field - so they are preferred over Van'Dalgyon. The Dark Creator is obviously boss, but Vice Dragon has newfound utility in Overdark Dragon. Yes, he opens up potential for level 5 Exceed Summoning which has proven useful to me on occasion through my testing against Sabers.

The trap line up has been doing OK for me. The solemns are still pretty useful but I haven't done much testing against the speculated top tier threats of this new format. Trap Dustshoot has been doing alright for me. It's rarely dead weight at least but against the Saber deck I often play, it doesn't really cripple them too much. Haven't really tested Mind Crush too much yet, so I don't have a strong opinion on it. I tested Call of the Haunted but ended up not liking it and preferring The Dark Creator instead. Honestly, I think Heavy Storm and two Mystical Space Typhoon is sufficient for this format - or at least - for this deck.

The side deck has been rushed in a matters of minutes and the Extra Deck could probably be improved upon too.
