Haven't you ever read a Pokédex entry and went "Whaaaaat?" (okay, maybe not like that =P)
I'd love it if you could recall these moments and share with everyone what entries you found just silly or downright insane. ^^ I know it's just a fictional world with creatures that can use magic powers, but it's still fun to point out how ridiculous or off they can sound. =)

Let me start this out with a minigun-wielding Machamp that is still slower than regular Machamp

Or a Mega Groudon which is as tall and heavy as Groudon

What else can I say? Machamp's entry is just very ridiculous to me. *sweat*
Don't get me started on Wailord's weight

The extinction of the Indian elephant at the hands of Raichu and Gastly.

Raichu, FireRed: "Its electric charges can reach even 100,000 volts. Careless contact can cause even an Indian elephant to faint."
Gastly, FireRed: "A being that exists as a thin gas. It can topple an Indian elephant by enveloping the prey in two seconds."

Like, there are some weird Pokedex entries out there, with really odd comparisons and illogical numbers, but why the Indian elephant? For one, it's a real-life animal and not a Pokemon. Two, why specify an INDIAN elephant? Why not just an elephant?

    There's also Gengar's Sun entry.
Gengar, Sun: "Should you feel yourself attacked by a sudden chill, it is evidence of an approaching Gengar. There is no escaping it. Give up."

WHY?! Give up? Isn't the Ghost-type creepy enough? Yeesh.

Whaaaaat?! I've never heard of those! oO But I just checked, and wow! Why would they bring in Indian elephants and tell you to give up? O_O
I really love your response, LuminousWarrior! =D I'm glad to see this topic gets such great feedback! ^-^

AHEM! Right! I should post some entries as well. *sweat*

in FireRed: [S-HIGHLIGHT]"A Pokémon of South America that was thought to have been extinct. It is very intelligent and learns any move."[/S-HIGHLIGHT]
South America, huh? Not like a tropical region or an unknown location? No, straight up South America! oO

There are so many on the leek stalk of Farfetch'd

, it might as well glitch that brain of it. Since there are so many to list, I might as well show a link to all of them instead: https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Farfetch'd_(Pokémon)#Pok.C3.A9dex_entries_3

If you're interested, I've used Bulbapedia's Farfetch'd picture and edited it to showcase a lot of stuff that I think is wrong with it. =P

Okay, last one I'll post for now...
    Regice
[PokeCommunity.com] Your thoughts on Pokédex entries
in Pokémon Sapphire: [S-HIGHLIGHT]"Regice cloaks itself with frigid air of negative 328 degrees F. Things will freeze solid just by going near this Pokémon. Its icy body is so cold, it will not melt even if it is immersed in magma."[/S-HIGHLIGHT]
    the air around Regice: -328° F / -200° C
    Liquid Nitrogen: -321° F / -196° C
    Liquid Oxygen: -298° F / -183° C
    Liquid Air: -318° F / -195° C (https://hyperphysics.phy-astr.gsu.edu/hbase/thermo/liqair.html)

So it seems that Regice is surrounded by liquid air, wow! I didn't even know that the air we breathe can turn into liquid, but there you go! So... does that mean it can use Surf on land? Seeing how it turns all the air around it into a liquid? Call it... Subsurfo / Sub-surf-o! ^^
(bad pun on sub-zero and Surf)

I remember one that could also mention, Merry. =P This one always stuck me as not really a Pokedex log, but rather a punchline... XDDD

I always thought by now that after Gen 3, we would be past the nonsensical entries... but FireRed's mentioning of Kadabra proves that wrong. =P

    Kadabra
[PokeCommunity.com] Your thoughts on Pokédex entries
"It happened one morning - a boy with extrasensory powers awoke in bed transformed into Kadabra."

What kind of scientific observation is that?! XDDD So, you're telling me... when researchers are looking for more data, they come to a psychic human's home and watch him sleep for days on end till he transforms into a Pokemon? Oo And why just a boy? Does this cover girl psychics too? Would Sabrina one day turn into a Pokemon? Does being psychic in general make you half-Pokemon? =P

And while we're on the topic... I might as well share this silly entry too. ^w^

    Klefki in Pokemon X:
"These key collectors threaten any attackers by fiercely jingling their keys at them. "

Oooooooooooh... scaaaaaary. XP Don't jingle those keys at me, Klefki! It's too intimidating hearing the sound of what some infants enjoy listening to!
