yup. im gonna get flamed for this O_e

I think the tiers are only good for keeping out crazy ubers that sweep your team. I don't like the rest of the tiers how some times it looks like they just feel like putting a pokemon were ever; like blazikin is a uu right now and infernape is an ou. I know it's based on use but that is the problem if there is going to be a tier system it should be based on power. I just made an ou team and I only used like 2 ous. I used blazikin insted of infernape even though the tiers say infernape is better when it's really not.

I agree with the "I like this pokemon, I'm gonna use 'em". I have a blastoise on my team, every time I say that people ask "What's it for?"....For battling, duh. And the team seems good. In competitive battling people may think you have something else and tr to guess what you'll do. Then you can confuse them a possiby beat them.

I too am not into breeding and the other complicated mechanics of the game but I do EV train the ones I like just to make them stronger. I use the pokemon which I like and you too are telling that one should use a pokemon one likes. I know that what I am about to say applies to very few but still: What if the players that you played liked to use blissey and not for being strong competitively? Tiers and EVs, IVs are discovered by us and not declared by nintendo and they just add a little challenge and a little depth to the gameplay as said by others. BTW: I N-E-V-E-R care for IVs! They are really something that are really COMPLICATED FOR ME!!!

(Offtopic)I am sending you a FR just for how you said what you wanted to say corageously!(Of course its upto you to accept my FR!)

I enjoy that Pokemon can be a technical game with all of the stats and categories that are slowly coming out but...what I like about Pokemon is that...I can catch and train and attach myself to any of them and use them as my partner. I don't like thinking that I need a certain type of Pokemon to be able to compete in certain matches. That's not what Pokemon and battling is for me. Pokebattling is just taking your favorite most cherished Pokemon and training them to the best of your ability: ev/ivs and stats be damned.

I agree with you totally, which is ironic cause when I used to play my 3rd Gen games I was so much of a breeder/EV trainer that I would spend 2 days to 3 weeks just trying to breed a pokemon (I bred many at the time) that had "above average" stats and it's "best stat" be the 1 that helped it's type (not taking natures into account in which you could add more time) though since I began playing Crystal again I just enjoy training pokemon for who they are (shame I can't compete on Wi-Fi though)

I completely agree 100% with everything. IN MY OPINION teams should be all for fun. not just complete stradegy(sp?). I think people should have more funn and not take it soooooo seriously.

i dont care for special training and breeding, nor do i "get it". and im lazy /hit

i just think you should use the pokemon you like for battling! if your favorite pokemon is magikarp then go ahead, use him
if you like overused and/or ubers like, garchomp, or mewtwo, use him
if you like to battle with iv, ev, tiers, extra special egg move and stat breeded poke's by all means do it!
go on and have fun, thats what pokemon is, fun~

I think that one should use a pokemon one loves and has fun battling with it. If one likes using strategies then one can use them as they may find fun in it(dunno how they can find fun in strategy but still!).
