Hi guys. :3 I'm Zephyr, and I predominantly lurk here. However, something drove me to create a sprite thread to advertise Uraniumout of the goodness of my own heart, so here we are.

A little background: I've been spriting for upwards of four years now (November 23, 2004 specifically). I started out doing basic edits, then moved on to mixes, pixelart, and finally fakemon, tiles, and everything but the kitchen sink. This forum in particular holds a special sort of place to me, for it was here that I really got started scratching. For all that are interested, here's my old sprite topic. Interesting to see how far I've come.

I'm not really self-motivated. Most of my work is for fangames, because it turns out people want their fakemon sprited. Who knew? My two main projects are Pokemon Uranium (more on that later) and a long-running and somewhat covert project called Pokemon Amber. I do mainly fakemon, but also (due to my willingness to try anything) end up doing tiles and trainers and overworlds, as I've said before. I'll do my best to represent all of them in this thread.

Legal stuff: Don't claim my work as your own, or use it without asking me first or at least giving credit. Really quite simple.

Fakemon

Most of my latest fakemon are for Pokemon Uranium; their origin will be marked.

Flager and Inflagetah, the fire/ground starters for Pokemon Uranium. Their initial designs, as with the rest of the Uranium starters, were by JV. Inflagetah was really difficult but oh so worth it.

Orchynx and Metalynx, the Grass/steel starters. Metal is an interesting thing to shade, because you've gotta have really high contrast and flare. Metalynx's pose was an attempt at something new; I think it worked, to be honest.

Eletruxo; water/electric final stage of the water starter (the first stage's revamp was done by another spriter). This is a key example of how I shade: differences in hue and saturation, rather than just making the color darker, make for more interesting (and realistic?) shadows.

Pahar, the first stage in an as-before-unseen fire/flying parrots line for Uranium. This design is mine.

These are the ground starters for Pokemon Amber (the triangle goes ground -> rock -> ice, it works be quiet), and some of my favourite sprites overall. They're kinda dated, though. :/ Also note that they're 80x80, not 64x64.

Three guesses what my favourite Pokemon are? Pluriussu and Minuriussu (mean-oo-ree-oo-sue) are electric/steel evolutions of Plusle and Minun, and have undergone at least two major overhauls of design simply because I love them so much.

These are Nupin and Gellin, electric/grass amoebas. Gellin is notable in that it is about as big as a horse, and is therefore rideable (it propels itself with electric explosionthingies that come from the horseshoe-shaped things on its, er, feet). Some of my favourite designs.

Yeah, so I'm called upon to do the wackiest things, going as far as HUD (which I'm horrendous at). Here we are.

The Pokemon Uranium male trainer sprite. (I haven't done the girl yet, but I have a design for her, so it's all good.) I have never before pulled off a trainer so well, and I doubt I will ever again. He's full scratch, by the way-- I just won't settle for edits.

His backshots, which are edits (*hypocrite*), but don't be fooled: these took much more work than his scratch frontsprite.

The protagonist of Pokemon Amber. Miniskirts are bleh; real girls wear jeans. Also, three guesses as to what her name might be?

Theo. He's eleven years old and gonna be a pogeyman master and beat you... with a little help from his dad. Expect to see him in Uranium. Expect to see A LOT of him in Uranium.

Overworlds of Uranium's Professor Bamb'o, who is without a doubt cooler than your tree professor. He wears shades and a hawaiian shirt to work. He has a trainer sprite too, but you're sick of people by now...

As for tiles: I've made quite a few, but Amber tiles are under wraps and Uranium tiles are exclusive to that game. If there's a high demand for 'em, then I may consider making some public domain ones for everyone to use, but c'mon, I'm not that good... anyhow. For a good example of what my tiles are like, I reccommend you check the thread for Pokemon Uranium, for which there is a link in my sig.

I've also made a fair handful of scratches of official Pokemon which anyone can use with credit. Rather than posting them all, I'll post one or two, and then you can ask if I have the Pokemon that you want.

...So. That is nowhere close to being all of my sprites. I don't think I would be able to post all of my sprites anywhere without risking a server meltdown. Nevertheless, this is some of the most recent. For more, there's always my deviantArt (link in my sig). I'm currently Downloading Urainium, and to be honest, before i saw yours, i hated fakemon.
But now, if you'll forgive my crude-ness. Every time i see them i literally jizz myself.

I know right? His fakemon are amazing, keeping with the traditional 4th gen style.

...However, I'm not sure you noticed, but the last post in this thread was in February. I'd rather not have my sprite showcase bumped (I'll create a new one if I want feedback). So can a mod please close this? In the meantime, you can leave a VM if you want to talk sprites.
