You have to change uniforms...? In my school, we have the same uniform for years 7-11, then years 12 and 13 wear non-uniform.

XD 'Secondary uniform' (the year 7-11 one) consists of black trousers or skirts, and a maroon, white or blue shirt. No one, and I mean no one, wears the blue shirt, cause it's a yucky type of blue. Thank goodness the school's planning to change it ^_^

We don't wear uniforms at our school, unless you're doing sports (and that's only during games). Most schools in the States (or at least all that I've seen) never wear uniforms. I... guess we don't like them or something.

...I'm crazy enough to want a uniform too. >: *thinks they look cool, for some unknown reason*

Our school's excuse is that so we cna have a good reputation.

It really bugs me, cause at school assemblies they talk about our uniforms more than our education.

However, most schools have "mufti days", on which we can wear anything.

Since we got our new principal (5 years ago), we've only had 2 mufti days. Why? Cause she reckons students would get bullied cause they may not have the "latest clothes".

We barely get any non-uniform days. But when we do, we usually have to pay. -____-"

I understand that the money is going to a charity... But seriously. Can't we get ONE non-uniform day when we don't have to pay?

There's also 'Tiger Spirit' day where we can where black and/or orange and Red Nose Day, where we can wear red. But those only happen once every school year... And we still have to pay 40 Baht (around 1 US Dollar). Grr....

Why would they want to talk about uniforms more? Who will care about your old school uniforms ten years down the road? :/

That's one of the reasons some schools in the US do go to uniforms. However... I don't see many of them at all.

Hm? That's... odd. :/ At least it's for a good cause though.

    I do remember one time where we had to pay for Hat day. I think it was kind of crazy these days. o.o;

I remember that we used to do that ... not anymore though.

But I don't really see what the problem is if it's for charity.

    No no, you misunderstood.

They are always yabbering on about how we look outside of school: shirts tucked in, wearing blazers and what not.

They think if we present ourselves well to the public, people will think that we have a good school, which will somehow benefit us later on when we go for jobs.

I personally think it's a load of bullocks. I would rather be judged on my marks and achievements than whether or not I wore a blazer.

I guess it is for a good cause... My school does a lot for charity. It helped out the victims during the Tsunami. They even made a book called Children of... Something... I forgot what it was called. And every year, each tutor group has to try and make 4000 Baht (100 US Dollars) to make a child in a small village in Thailand stay in school. There's also something for years 12 and 13 where they go somewhere to build a house...

Yeah... I only wish I could go. I've never built a house before. It sounds pretty interesting...

But I have to wait for two more years. And I'm not sure whether I'm staying in the same school until then.

In the final two years of high school our uniforms are changed.

It felt really weird at first, cause we stuck out heaps.

My school really doesn't do too much charity wise except givetoys fot tots and donate food items and clothes. My school was on TV once too but that's only because some kids died and they wanted to show where they attended school. So, it wasn't too happy.

Also, my school really doesn't enforce(spelling?) the dress code. Only if it's really innaprpriate XP

My school isnt real big on it either. I mean you could wear pajamas to school and they wouldnt dress code you.
