Wow, I can tell a lot of though went into this question.
    A tad too generic? xD

From what I've seen I like him more than McTit, but I haven't read up on most of his policies or know what he's like as a person so I can't really judge.

I like Obama because he came to my house and gave me a cookie.

Then he went back to his party van.

    I'll miss him.

NO. HE DID THAT FOR ME. Except I couldn't see him coming to my house at night o.o

    lol joking.

Well I like the feat he's done to be the first black president, but now Akon wants to be the next Terminator XD

    ... No.

In the interest of avoiding receiving a large amount of contemptuous comments from fellow members, I won't state my reasons.

I personally do not like Obama.

I do not wish to go into it either.

I'll leave it with a simple no, but I can deal with him.

Yeah, Obama's great. I'm sure he'll do a much better job than George Bush ever did.

I couldn't care less, I'm not even American. The world is screwed either way. One person alone can't change everything. And how did Bush become president? People voted for him and were like "He's the best, he'll make America a better place! <3" and look at him now. Why do you think Obama will be any different? Everybody just sees him as god because of his skin colour. He's black. ... So what? I can't wait to see someone throw a shoe at Obama after a couple of years.

    Yay. Just..yay. Haha.

Yeah, I don't like Obama, and due to the same reasons the other (possibly 4?) people stated, I'm not gonna go into it. He's already our new President, and I can live with it, but I shant be thrilled.

I like him, his econimic plan to bring America out of this crisis is very well thought out. I trust him very much to bring America back to way it should be.

I find it amusing that some people here cite "Bush sucked" as the reason why they like Obama. As far as I'm concerned, that's not even a reason at all. But why should I even bother....

This is a misleading question. Do I like Obama? Sure, I don't hate the guy. I'm sure he would be a cool person to meet. What I don't like is his policies and the direction he wants to take the country in. I'm worried that his presidency will move us toward a bigger government with more spending and programs, which I am not in support of. I'm also worried about some of the domestic changes he could bring about. I could go on, but I'll leave it at that I guess lest I start a huge debate again XD

I like Obama as a person. I like his ideas, and what he has promised. Only time will tell if he lives up to those promises, but I think he will.

So yes, I "like" Obama, but that isn't what really is important now is it? I just hope that the other branches of the government are willing to work quickly (lolwut?) with him. We need to get this terrorist business dealt with so we can start working on more important projects like universal healthcare, making the world a better place, etc.

I wouldn't worry about that seeing as campaign promises =/= what he's actually going to do, and nobody can really know what effect his policies will have. Not to like, turn this into a political debate thread X]

I like Obama. He seems to be a hopeful guy, which is always nice since there doesn't seem to be a lot right now. I mean, I don't agree with the guy on everything, but he seems to be smart and capable, which is more than our current president or pathetic Congress can say.

Not at all. I didn't like him right off the bat, and he hasn't given me reason to yet. He has made WAY to many promises that he can't keep, and it's going to come back at him. The people expect way too much out of him, most of which he has no chance of getting done. Not to mention that he is more of a celebrity than a politician. This country is in for a rude awakening...

I don't have anything against him, I mean, I was against him in the election, but that's only because I thought McCain would be better, not that Obmama was bad...

Maybe I think this way because I've grown up in a country that actually gives its citizens free education (even university and college) and health care and so on, but I really believe Obama has a point. For years I've heard stories of USA's insufficient health care system and all the trouble parents have to go trough to get their kids to a good university, and I've heard these from people who live in the US. To me, it seemed a lot like the policies of the government were in favor of the rich people.

I also believe it is very good to have middle-class people as politicians. EU policians are revolting because they seem to think they are way above the average people. If the politican actually is one of the average people, some problems and stupidites in laws can be fixed or avoided. Obama hasn't been a very rich person most of his life, so he should know what normal life is like. Bush has been rich for his entire life.

But those reasons are small and unimportant next to my main reason for liking Obama over Bush and McCain. That reason is the fact that I believe Obama doesn't want to go to war. War is a part of foregin policy, and as a foreigner, that concerns me the most. I don't want any more wars. Now that the situation in Russia is only getting worse, I can see some light shining from the United States of America. If Obama really is who he seems to be, there won't be another Afghanistan nor Iraq. And I sincerely hope he is.

    That's why I like him.

The reason that we're in a bad money crisis (or mostly the reason) is because Bush decided we needed to butt in Iraq's business. Sure, taking out their leader made them happy, but now the people in Iraq hate Americans. McCain thought that we needed to be there until "we won." ??? What are we winning here exactly? And before anybody says anything about bombs or anything else, our army is apparently not finding anything. They need to come back home and worry about protecting USA. The country is spending billions of dollars there that we could be spending back at home to help the country.

I love how Obama is against the war and is thinking about bringing everyone home. I'm not saying I hate Bush, but he has kind of made some bad choices. Maybe Obama won't keep all the promises he has said he will make, but it's good to see some new leadership to hopefully help us in this war nightmare.
