I'm doing a little post game stuff of Emerald, just because I think it would be fun. I actually did the Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza fights. Lol. I also went through the Trick House, because I forgot to during the playthrough. Oops. Zara and Aegis were both level 72 before the fight. I could have used a few more Rare Candies, but, y'know. That makes things more easier and therefore, more boring.

Oh yeah, also going to avoid using Revives. I think it's fair.

Fire Monotype Challenge: Part 54 - Fire and Steel

Trainer Name: Seb
Badges: 8
Generation: III (on Emerald)
Location: Littleroot Town

Battle With Steven:

  • First up is Skarmory. I plan to have Aegis take care of three Pokemon, and Zara will beat the other three. Skarmory was an almost OHKO with Flamethrower, but it's not like it can do much to Aegis.
  • He's going to... METAGROSS ALREADY? Geez. Switching to Zara. Flamethrower got Metagross to the yellow, but I wasn't expecting a KO. Then he used Psychic. I crossed my fingers hoping for Zara to live, and... she survives with 25 HP because she's awesome. Outsped Metagross to take it down.
  • Back to Aegis for Aggron. Healed up Zara first, while Aggron used Earthquake. Thank goodness for Aegis's great Defense. Healed while Aggron missed with Thunder, and then used Flamethrower, which did about half. Earthquake does just about half to me as well, but Aegis's health is still in the green. I decided to risk a Flamethrower (even Aggron is faster than Aegis), and Earthquake leaves me with just 13 HP. I'm getting good at this.
  • Now to Claydol. I'm still sticking with Aegis. Healed up while Claydol used Ancient Power. Didn't do too much. It used Earthquake. Meh. I tried for a Flamethrower just as the thing set up Light Screen. Gr. Luckily, my Flamethrower actually critical'd, sending Claydol to the red. Steven healed up, of course, so I decided to use Toxic. Return and Flamethrower aren't doing any damage at all. Insert a few turns of healing until... Steven heals again? What? Claydol wasn't even in the red. Rinse and repeat. The thing sets up both Light Screen and Reflect. It finally dies to poison.
  • The last two are for Zara. First up is Cradily. Sky Uppercut does a nice amount while Cradily confuses me. I used a Full Heal while Steven used another Full Restore. How many does he have? Geez. This time, Sky Uppercut criticals and defeats Cradily.
  • Last up is Armaldo. The stupid thing has Aerial Ace and Water Pulse. After a few turns of healing and attacking, I was left with 33 HP, and I finished it with Flamethrower. Well, it's over. The epic fight is over.
As always, I released my HM Slaves and everyone else in my box. Wailmer didn't want to leave, though... well, Wailmer is awesome, so I'll let her stay with me in the house instead of rotting inside the PC. I walked back to my house and returned to my room. Zara and Aegis. You were awesome.

Team:

Finally! Beat Yellow. Took forever, and a lot of trickery with only two pokemon, and some revivery with Frank as a distraction. Definitely hard in yellow. Should be better in Crystal.

Yeah, I left the game on a lot, lol.

Neomoth definitely was worth it, and end up pulling me through the E4 using Sleep powder. Tricky tricky. Off to crystal!!

I have bested Fruit, Spike, and Moon, and now I am here to defeat you, The Guy! Erika and Janine, and have opened up the Magnet Train as well. Now to thrash Misty and Brock, then off to Cinnyabar to meet with Blue and get the Volcanobadge, then I'll pick up the Erfbadge Earthbadge and then give Sabrina another try.

I hope for your own sake you're playing Platinum. :P

Thanks. Don't worry. I'm playing Platinum. Mainly because I can't stand Pearl's slow Surfing speed. : P

And Platinum has Houndour, which is a bonus, I guess. Actually, it's great because I don't know how far I'll get with a crazed monkey on fire and a horse.

No. Not The Guy. The Father! Geez. It took me a minute to get that reference. Then I hit myself on the head. Then I laughed.

Fire Monotype Challenge: Part 55 - Once More With Feeling

Trainer Name: Seb
Badges: 0
Generation: IV (on Platinum)
Location: Jubilife City
Log:

  • Apparently, I'm traveling to Sinnoh with my mom to meet up again with old friends of the family. Also, apparently, I'm too lazy to do fancy-diary-ish logs, so this is all you're getting.
  • Shoot. I forgot. I have to name my rival... um... his name is now Ezlo! First video game character I could think of that somewhat fits. Haha.
  • Chimchar get! I also defeated Ezlo.
  • I nicknamed my new Pokemon "Rafiki." Hooray for more references.
  • Caught a Bidoof and Starly as HM Slaves.
  • Arrived in Jubilife, got stuff, met a crazy guy named Looker (with an awesome theme), and did more stuff.
  • I actually don't know Sinnoh well at all, so sorry if I do things in weird orders/miss stuff along the way/get confused and lost. I actually haven't beaten the Sinnoh Elite Four at all. I have a Pearl playthrough, but it got really frustrating to play because of how slow everything was. Yeah. This'll be fun.
Team:

I know that the Rafiki from The Lion King (where my Chimchar's nickname is based off of... obviously) appears to be a mandrill, while Chimchar's name is based off a chimpanzee, and it looks like a generic little monkey... thing, I guess. They're both primates, at least.

Platinum's got a better surf speed? Schweet.

I really shouldn't be playing while trying to watch Haruhi Suzumiya, since it kills my processing power, but why not?

...Well, despite Misty's surprise two ice sweepers, I still pulled a win. Giga Drain for the win!

I just was about to post a post about my whole Sinnoh quest that I completed in about 24 hours straight but it got deleted; to make a long story short, I played Diamond for 24 hours straight and finally completed it with a Level 79 Infernape with Earthquake, Close Combat, Aerial Ace, and Flamethrower. The End of my challenge.

@ ~Hot n' Cold~: Congrats on beating the challenge! I don't think I'd be able to sit down for that long just to play Pokemon. : P

raekuul said:

That's what I've heard, anyway. The battling seems a teeny bit faster as well. Everything else is pretty much the same, though. It's still slower than Gen 3, though.

Fire Monotype Challenge: Part 56 - Team Member Acquired... Already!?

Trainer Name: Seb
Badges: 1
Generation: IV (on Platinum)
Location: Oreburgh City

Log
:

  • Beat my rival Ezlo again. All his Piplup did was use Growl over... and over... and over again.
  • Went east to Oreburgh. I really don't know the geography of Sinnoh well, as opposed to the other three games, which I can probably play in my sleep.
  • Rafiki evolved! Now his design is tolerable.
  • Arrived in Oreburgh and went north to catch a Ponyta! Whoa, new team member? Rafiki hasn't even evolved to an Infernape yet! Wow! What a concept. Anyway, I named her Agro. I was tempted to call her Epona, but we then we'd have two Zelda references in one playthrough, and I think that one is enough. This is still a video game reference, though.
  • Grinded and grinded. The only time I've grinded so far in this challenge is when I acquired new team members, and I'd like to hopefully keep it that way.
  • Found Roark in the mines and beat him in the gym. I was worried about Cranidos, but then I remembered that it has really bad defense. Mach Punch ftw! Roark is pretty awesome, I guess. He has nerdy glasses.
Team:
391.png

Rafiki (Level 18)
- Ember
- Mach Punch
- Scratch
- Leer
77.png

Agro (Level 11)
- Ember
- Tackle
- Growl? Leer? Something like that. Whatever. She's cool.

---

I could probably just beast the game with Rafiki, but I've never used a Rapidash before. I think it'll be fun. I'm also getting a Houndour, but I haven't decided on its nickname yet. I like doing these runs with only two to three Pokemon. Three is more fun, though.

Shoot. Monferno/Infernape don't learn Flamethrower by level up, do they? Does anyone know where to find the TM for Flamethrower in this game? Don't tell me I have to buy it at the Game Corner again...

O_O. You sir, are forcing me to laugh more than when the reality hit me that I was playing Ranger 2 on my computor while watching the Olympics. And was doing better than when I tried Ranger 1 on a DS.

Anyway, I finally decided to get the ROM for Emerald recently got back into Gen 3, and am in a prime condition to finish the ORIGINAL (well, not the first, but it was the first major attempt at) Electric Monotype. So coming tomorrow: Mattman's adventures in Hoenn part 1: Electric Boogaloo!

  • Left Oreburgh and met up with Rival Ezlo again.
  • Whoa. Who are those guys with the crazy outfits and hairdos? They must be defeated.
  • More guys in crazy outfits. They are (dare I say it?) out of this world. Yeah. Sorry for that. Either way, they must be defeated.
  • OH MY GOODNESS. ROSELIA'S SPRITE IS UGLY. What happened to it?!
  • Fine. I'll escort you, Cheryl. I must say, I love what they did to the Eterna Forest. It looks beautiful. Damn her Chansey, though. It's pretty much useless. That Egg Bomb misses 4 times out of 5, I swear.
  • Met this person named Cynthia. She gave me HM01. Oh well. Thanks for that, I guess. It's not like she's going to become some important character or anything. That'd be ridiculous.
  • Went into the Gym. Um... a floral clock? And fountains? I think I prefered the old gym. Also, Fire incinerates Grass. Easy win.

Well, it's like I promised.

Mattman's Journey Part 3: Hoenn. Section 1: Off we go, into the wild YELLOW yonder...

So my house caught on fire (AGAIN!), and all my pokemon died. I'm not entirely sure how Lanturn died, but he did. So Mom decided to pack up and move us into Hoenn, where my Dad lives. I wonder why we didn't live in the same region...?

My quest had started again. Mattman the Electric type master will prevail!
- Started up. Named myself "Mattman" as per the norm.
- Got a Mudkip from Birch.
- Beat may.
- Caught a Zigzagoon. Turns out there are "Abilities" in Hoenn, and Zigzagoon has been getting me items. Who knew?
- So there are these fanatics in this region called "Team aqua" who I have to beat up. They like water types, so I could get used to this.
- Mudkip ended up evolving just in time to trounce Roxanne.
- Beat up Team aqua AGAIN.
- Got a letter for a random man named Steven and a parcel for a certain Captain Crunch Stern.
- Got to Dewford.
- Gave steven his letter.
- Birch said there were electric types past Slateport. One was rare as heck, but thanks to my new Sparky's "Static" ability, finding it was made easy.
- Caught Sparky (Electrike), Giga (Minun), and Watt (Plusle)
- Started training for Brawly's gym.

Team:

Electrike "Sparky" @ Silk Scarf, level 15
Tackle
Thunder Wave
Howl
Leer

Manectric learn Crunch, right? I'd love it if it did, that way I could have a Ground killer before the seventh gym.

Minun "Giga" @ Quick Claw, level 15
Quick attack
Thunder Wave
Helping Hand
Growl

This is the only one of my current three I've used before. I've decided that Giga would take a support role so as to be helpful outside of Double Battles.

Plusle, "Watt", level 15
Same moves as Minun

Wheras Minun will support, Plusle will be more of an attacker. IT TOOK ME AGES TO FIND TO. But I digress.

YAHHHHOOOOO!!!!
I DID IT!! TAKE THAT SINNOH!!
As I was saying,I just beat the ultimante monotype challenge, Poison.
It took me a total of 6 tries to beat the E4...

Aaron
Not too much trouble, I can beat him basically perfect....Vespiqueen caused problems until the finaal run....On the last run I 2-shotted her..

Bertha
She never caused any trouble....I could always fry anything except Gliscor...even then an Ice Fang Quickly Dispacthed it.

Flint
Aarghh..Friggin Ronald McDonald!! I have but three things to say....
-Magmortar is God
-Dry Skin Toxicroaks are suprisingly durable
-And Rapidash is suicidal with Flare blitz
Lucian
Even though he's a Psychic trainer, he gave much less trouble than anticipated...even though I had to stall out Gallade

Cynthia
One tough Goth
-Spiritomb fell without trouble
-Garchomp, I had to stall with Bram
-Togekiss was way harder than I could of ever imagined..It nearly swept my team...thankfully, It was too stupid to use Aura Ball on Jezebel
-Milotic...the most epic fail ever..It constantly use Mirror Coat, and I confused it and Revived and healed my whole team
-Lucario was meh
-Roserade, last Pokemon..the cou de gras' was Air Slash

Seraph Lv57
Female/Impish/Big Root
Giga Drain
Hyper Beam
Shadow Ball
Attract
My First and one my most valuable pokemon..I wish it would of had some better movees but, It could've been worse...I sincerely wish the Shint Stone came earlier..

Bram Lv58
Male/Quiet/none
Air Slash
Aerial Ace
Confuse Ray
Dark Pulse
My 4th Zubat family..Like Nosferatu,Orlock, and Elizabeth before him, he played a vtal role causing Confusion and flinching

Bonnie Lv57
Female/Naive/Poison Barb
Nasty Plot
Earthquake
Poison Jab
Focus Blast
Another Good Teammember...She was Godly early on..But if it wern't for Earthquake, she wouldn't of seen much use in the E4...

Jezebel Lv58
Female/Bold/none
Cross Poison
Ice Fang
Fire Fang
Thunder Fang
Probabbly MVP, Great Attack, incredible Defence and amazing type coverage mad this thing ploain beast

So yeah, that's it....Good luck to those who are still chugging on,don't give up hope...and..yeah

I may do another type later, but now, I shall relax...

Picked up the EXPN Card and the Boulder Badge.

Ok, since I quit my old challenge (Fire type), I think I'm ready to start again.

Sign me up with NORMAL in Fire Red please.

So. Guess I'm gonna go train for Brock now. Sigh.

No update for now, just telling you my status.
I've got pretty far in my silver challenge.
Why do I don't update?
Not all of my videos are uploaded and I don't update before they are all.
And I keep playing while they upload too so it's more videos.
Just look at my youtube channel(Boblekon) to see videos.
Oh and Thursday I'm going to vacation for a week so no update for me that week.

Hey, this is a very short update that covers a lot

Yeah...I had my appendix removed this weekend...which sucks...and as such this will be my only update for a while since I don't have a lot of energy.

In short, I finished the second leg. I'll only cover my epic battle with red however, as I can't remember much else because i'm on vicaten. I'll go back and put everything else in this update when i feel better.

I started out with Dragonite's outrage which killed his pikachu in one hit, and then his espeon, and did severe damage to his snorlax. Dragonite then became confused, so I switched out to kingdra. Kingdra finished off his snorlax with hydro pump, and he sent out venusaur, which died to 2 dragonbreaths. Next he sent out blastoise, which wasn't killed by dragonbreath and as a result Kingdra died to. Dragonite got sent back out and finished off blastoise with outrage, and then charizard in one hit.
LEG 2 COMPLETE!!

Final Team
Dragonite Lv. 81
-Outrage
-Wing Attack
-Icy Wind
-Iron Tail

Kingdra Lv. 79
-Dragonbreath
-Hyper Beam
-Surf
-Hydro Pump
