  • I just found it hilarious how he was a hardcore halo player yet he constantly talked about Apple, which is right with Popcap when it comes to hardcore games.

That also crossed my mind! XD

    FIRST POST UPDATE!
Posted pictures of mine to show you what the blue looks like.

  • Which are you going to play first? Talk about choices! XD
Well, congratulations on your first DS console.

I ended up choosing to play Pilotwings first. I feel that I've made the right choice. :D Thanks for the congratulations. Hooray for no more emulation!

I was surprised to find how captured I was by the 3D effect. It takes a minute to get used to it, but once I did, it was more than just a simple "gimmick". The 3D adds an entirely new game mechanic!

I suppose the beginning of my Pokemon adventure will have to wait until tomorrow, seeing as my hours seemed to have slipped past me today while I wasn't looking. :P

I went to walmart at 12 for the launch with my friends. They ended up getting street fighter and playing together. God, it was amazing. The 3D really does captivate you once you hit the sweet spot.

  • I'm probably going to pick up a black 3DS tomorrow when I head to the mall. As for games, I'm thinking I'm just going to grab Street Fighter - none of the other games seem to really be my cup of tea.

  • I'm probably going to go and pick one up as soon as I can, but I've only got $100 so far, so I'll most likely pre-order it or something and pay it off everytime I get some more money so I can get it. Luckily I found it in a catalogue for $288 and that EB Games price match for people who have proof. :D

I'll probably get like, one game to start off with as well, like Super Street Fighter 4 or Nintendogs + Cats or something, since those games do seem really good for the console. I'll be waiting for those better games though, like Paper Mario and Ocarina of Time.

  • I've...pretty much decided to bite the bullet and get a 3DS. Traded in one of my college textbooks (from a general studies class...something that I'll never use) to Amazon for $76 and going to put that toward the 3DS. Probably going to get Ridge Racer and maybe SSF4 with it...not a big fan of fighting games but those two seem to be the best games available for it at launch.

  • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TcAgaU4ix8M&feature=feedu Ashens review of the 3DS.

It's quite interesting, that augmented reality stuff actually looks pretty cool, especially that face shooting game where it actually makes the picture you take make actual facial expressions and stuff... it's almost kind of creepy.

I want a 3DS really bad, especially now that my DS Lite has a crack in the hinge which I had to superglue to keep it from falling apart. I don't have the money though. :c

Got one, it's pretty entertaining. Still waiting for the awesome games they promised about the time I placed my preorder for the thing. >:/ Pokemon White is holding me over, though.

As it turns out, the 3DS does do DS wireless and wifi, you just have to the wireless coms switch turned before booting the DS game. And imo the blur-thing actually helps games like TWEWY and KH Days, and it improves the overall effect in Gen 5 battles. I don't like that it makes the main character fuzzy, but it doesn't bother me much.

  • Since this is a 3DS Discussion thread, I may as well discuss some games as well.

My mum also pre-ordered me OOT:3D, despite it coming out in several months, which has made me even more hyped for it. XD

Also, I didn't know how amazing the graphics are going to be in comparison to the original. I mean, I know they were going to be a better, but I'm shocked at how much.

The graphics are brilliant on the 3DS, the cutscenes on PES look exactly like the 360 ones but smaller.

  • I certainly am impressed with the graphics on the 3DS. I do love the analog stick, it just feels smooth and natural; I was worried that it would be just an after thought.

  • So yeah, got the 3ds a few days ago. Am pretty dissapointed to say the least. It was all fun, but when i realized how freaking much that thing cost. It was really not worth it. I think i'll devise a plan to take it back for a refund (even thought it's been open)

  • Not Getting One

    The moment I heard 3D in the 3DS I said I wasn't getting one.

Somethings wrong with my eyes and I can't see anything in 3D, which kinda makes me sad after hearing my friends talk about the awesomeness of 3D. :(

  • Sora's Nobody, you realize that there are a TON of great games coming out in the next few months. Ocarina of Time is coming in June, Kid Icarus comes later this year, and we still don't have dates for Mario Kart, Star Fox, Paper Mario, Kingdom Hearts, Metal Gear Solid, and a ton of other games. You're just going to turn around and spend $250 on another one when it gets some games you want (I don't expect a price drop anytime soon) so why not just keep it now? At least you have the system and can concentrate on just buying the games for it as they come. All systems have disappointing games at launch, that's the penalty of being an early adopter...but you're not going to save yourself anything by returning it and buying it again later. :/

And Pera, honestly, the 3D is the feature I care least about. I'm more impressed with the improved specs, the analog pad, and the games they've already announced to be releasing in the next year or so.

  • I just recently got my 3DS (on the release day at gamestop) and well, I like it sort of. The 3D is nice but it seems like it strains your eyes too much so I usually leave the effect off whenever I play 3DS games. It's boring for me to play at the moment only because there is almost no good 3DS titles out yet.(which is understandable) But the game I want to get the most is Resident Evil Mercenaries 3D because I always loved playing Mercenaries in Resident Evil, and being able to play it on the go with decent graphics, improved gameplay, and more characters is just awesome. The AR games is interesting too even though I don't play it that much, and there is one thing I noticed about the 3DS, it seems to have slightly lower quality pictures than the DSi. (unless its just me. They both take low quality pictures anyways)

This is something I've not heard enough people praise.

The analog stick feels really nice. It is easier on the thumb than the PSP's and it seems more fluid and seems to have more of a radius.

My only complaint on it is that my thumb naturally goes to it instead of the D-Pad due to the D-Pad being shifted down. I just need to get used to it.
