Yes I'm sure this is perfectly legitimate.

When we don't having a working map editing tool for DS Pokémon games and all they've shown is a BW ROM with edited graphics of a varying quality.

  • Yeah i found out just awhile ago that this hack is a let down. All it is is Hoenn pokemon instead of BW pokemon and Hoenn GLs and E4 instead of Unova. Yeah massive let down :(

Anyone else think Roserade,Frosslass,Gallade etc should be in RSE remakes. I do becaus I hate Glacia's team she needs Frosslass.

  • My first pokemon game was Sapphire so if they made remakes... I would bow at their feet and tell them how awesome they are.

  • I think we may have been saved until the real RS remakes come out. Gameguru81 on youtube has made a hack of BW and it is a RS remake(Kind of like Shiny Gold)

Gameguru81 doesn't know how to hack...He gets someone else to change the overworlds and sprites--half of which are stolen. It isn't a remake at all. :\

To change the subject slightly, how about the music?

I bet that if we do get remakes, Groudon, Kyogre and Rayquaza will each get remixes of their battle theme like the Tao trio. Groudon's theme will probably have volcanic eruption and earthquake sounds, Kyogre's theme would have crashing wave and bubbling sounds, and Rayquaza would likely have an extra instrumental part (like Kyurem).

Same goes for the Regis, with Regigigas being catchable and having its own remix of the Regi battle theme.

I'd like for a sound effect of crashing waves/eruption to be in their battle theme. :o

Though I do hope the remakes do include some mix from the original music (as I'm sure they will), because they bring back a lot of nostalgic memories for me. n__n

I'm sure the Hoenn Dex will be expanded to include new evolutions and pre-evolutions, and hopefully a little more, like HGSS did with the Johto Dex. New E4 rosters sound great though. Phoebe could use a Dusknoir and Froslass as well, but eh, that'd be redundant for her and Glacia to have a Froslass. For rematches though, I assume Phoebe will have a dreaded Chandelure.

Yeah, pretty sure they'll get their own songs this time around. Also, with the Regi trio being in Hoenn, I'm hoping they make Regigigas catchable in a post-E4 area, after obtaining the Regis of course. That would be nice. :)

  • i think music changes are deffently in order for it, like HG/SS had revamped music. and also, why wouldnt they spend money to both teams in a emerald remake? think about it, emerald was better selling, and it has more potential to do better, remaking R/S will be like a glorifiyed version of FR/LG with a different region and pokemon, while emerald has its own twists and turns as it is.

  • If the 4th gen evos do get added I can see Steven using Probopass.

    Steven's team will be

    Aggron
    Metagross
    Skarmory
    Probopass
    Magnezone
    Mawile/Armaldo/Cradily/Claydol

  • I think Cradily or Armaldo would be a better bet than Claydol or Mawile. Mawile may be a Steel type, but he didn't have one in the originals, plus those stats...lol. But yeah, looking forward to an expanded Dex. Hopefully they can add in a little more though? Maybe a few more Sinnoh Pokemon, and some Unova. If not during the main story, then post-game at least. Wild Petilil in Hoenn would be amazing.

Maybe they could include a few Kanto Pokémon during the main story (since FRLG was part of Gen III), and after challenging the Elite Four, go into the others. Though I wouldn't mind just going through the game with Hoenn Pokémon, until after the E4 too.

  • Because Kanto Introduces in every generation It would be awesome If we can
battle the Gym leaders of Kanto after the elite four and maybe Green and Red.

Not the Kanto leaders, we'll have part of the Sevii Islands which counts as Kanto. But I agree, Green&Red would be awesome!

double battle in Meteor Falls: Vs Red and Steven, and have Green as your partner

    Mon, Wed, Fri: Battle Steven
    Tues, Thurs: Battle Red
Weekend: Double battles, but only during Fall maybe?

    Red's Pokemon

    Pikachu: Lv. 98
    Snorlax: Lv. 95
    Espeon: Lv. 97
    Lapras: Lv. 96
    Venusaur: Lv. 97
    Swellow: Lv. 96

    Green's Pokemon

    Charizard: Lv. 99
Flareon/Jolteon/Vaporeon (Depends on your starter, it will be super effective against it): lv. 98
    Pidgeot: Lv. 97
    Scizor: Lv. 97
The last Hoenn Starter that wasn't choseen (Weak against yours): Lv 98
    Cradilly/Armaldo (Whichever you didn't choose): Lv. 96

and Steven would have his Emerald team between level 97-99

    12vs12

now THAT would be an awesome match

Remixes of themes from RSE are a given. They might even be able to pull the original files and give them a revamp (kinda like they did to the Legendary Titan theme in HGSS). Maybe they will include a GBA Player though to allow for the original mixes of the music.

Ho-Oh and Lugia got unique themes in HG/SS so they'll probably compose brand new music again.

Doubt they'd create entirely new themes. For one, they already had a 'unique' theme apart from the standard Wild Pokemon themes, unlike Ho-Oh/Lugia in the original Gold/Silver/Crystal, who just used the Johto Wild Pokemon theme. No, I think they'll just create variations of the theme, like they did with the Beast Trio in HGSS.

I am not so sure about Kanto. On the one hand, there hasn't yet been a Generation where Kanto has not appeared. On the other, maybe that would be a good thing.

I heard suspect things about Johto possibly being included though: In HGSS, they say the Burned Tower is to be rebuilt (something not said in the originals), and in the original games, during development, it was widely speculated Johto (and to some extent, possibly Kanto, although as we know they later came out with FRLG instead)) would have appeared - this is supported by resequenced music tracks from GSC being found in the game (Radio Tower under Rocket control, Route 38, GSC Pewter City, Beast Trio theme, and an unused Pokemon Center theme).

  • Not voting due to the fact that I don't want to fight myself.

    Ok... LONG RANT MODE!!!

    Spoiler:

But we all know they'll make it regardless of my one-person opinion. Because they'll get an income for it. And nobody who disagrees can change it by a drastic enough measure to make them stop producing it, which would be unfair to the people who do want the remakes, for whatever reason. Still, Nintendo is that far away from being con-men for now, they're only ripping us off

The Game Boy Advance is now ten years old and uses a proprietary media system (big cartridges). Expecting them to support such a thing is unreasonable because it involves sacrificing a large amount of space to fit the cartridge slot and creates issues with actually supporting the hardware - the 3DS does not have the correct processor to support natively playing GBA games like the DS did.

Backwards compatibility isn't much more than a tool used to incite the customer base to purchasing a new system when they have a weak and fledging software library, offering them the chance to still play the games they had for the previous system while they wait for new games to arrive.

As the DSi launched during a time when the DS itself had a very well rounded library of popular titles, offering GBA support was seen as redundant when it allowed them to improve the system's design by omitting the parts needed to interface with GBA carts and allow for more space to fit the current hardware in.

You're also probably (I don't even know what system you're talking about so) missing the point that the 3DS is a brand new system. It is not part of the original DS, DS Lite and DSi line, it is their successor, so its compatibility only stretches back to the original DS which share the same sized cartridges and a similar system processor. The only system so far to offer backwards compatibility further back than their direct predecessor is the PS3, which was mainly because the same drive can be used to read CDs along with Blu-Ray discs, and the power gap between the PS3 and the PS1 is enough that it can quite easily emulate the system.
