  • I never really had any trouble with Brock or Misty. Sabrina, however...UGH! Especially with how powerful psychic types were in Gen 1.

  • When FireRed and LeafGreen were made, would you have liked your starter to be Pikachu, as it was in Yellow? Or do you prefer the starters from Red and Blue?
I do like the idea of pikachu since if it is for pikachu, I can have all of the starters ^^

  • Alright, guys! Everything's been updated. Welcome, Cid!

New topic: Which of the original fossil Pokemon do you like the best?
My answer to this is hands down: Omastar. This especially applies with Omastar's new sweeping potential in Gen V with the addition of Shell Smash. Throw a Swift Swim Omastar in rain and use Shell Smash, and that Omastar becomes nearly unstoppable.

  • Not thinking competitively i prefer Kabutops, simple because it's like a rock water scyther thats been fossilised. But yeah after Gen 4 i suppose Omastar was a better pick but i still like Kabutops due to it's design

  • Aerodactly for the win. I mean, look. He stayed in OU for far too longer than the two combined. (JK) He has cooler designs, cooler fossil form (Amber ftw) and such. Good Pokemon.

Between the two, Kabutops. I am just basing on appearance since I neither liek the two of them. Kabutops has the swords and because swords are cool, therefore, he's cool.

Oo the two fossils, I was waiting for this to come up! Personally I'm an Omastar supporter. I think Kabutops looks cooler, but Omanyte is so adorable! And once it evolves into Omastar it may lose its cuteness, but it packs one heck of a punch! Omastar can be an utterly brutal battler if used correctly; this is something I wouldn't say is true for Kabutops. :3

  • I always forget about Aerodactyl. The episode in the anime
"Attack of the Prehistoric Pokemon" i love it because it has the fossils and Charizard vs Aerodactyl :D

  • Alright, I've updated the OP. Yes, a lot of us seem to have been forgetting about Aerodactyl. Personally, I think all 3 of them serve their purposes. If you were to have a Rock monotype team, having all 3 of them could be a possible option. ;)

  • Spammy comments tell me I should start a new topic: Are there any Generation I Pokemon that you like, but feel have been forgotten with newer generations?
I very rarely see Slowbro used online. But, I use Slowbro as the physical wall of my Water Monotype team. Slowbro is awesome in that role. Then there's Mr. Mime. For some reason, this excellent special wall, with access to Technician, has been banished to the NU abyss, whereas it was UU until Gen IV. There are others, but I'll stop there.

  • Bonfire411, please fix your join post before I can add you. There are two problems with it. Please review the OP and fix it accordingly. Also, answering the current topic would be appreciated. ;)

Are there any Generation I Pokemon that you like, but feel have been forgotten with newer generations?

(This question seems applicable to areas outside of competitive battling--my preference.)

The Kangaskhan, Bellsprout, and Paras lines are seldom seen Pokémon I remain a fan of as the generations progressed; probably a mix of Pokémon amount and parallel replacements, i.e. Zoroark, Cottonee, Foongus respectively. They really need to stop making all these Pokédex similarities.

  • Oh yes. This topic I answer with so many pokemon. Let's start.

    Oddish and Bellsprout family.

These six Pokemon, with the introduction of Jumpluff, a much much cuter version of them, had been extremely forgotten. I don;t know what people found in Jumpluff, but these six are more badass than him. Two cool and very original concepts. Two forgettable pokemon. Sad for them.

    Mankey Family.

We all know the story behind Ash's Primeape, and his short-lived TV appearance. Have we seen him again after that? No right? Even ingame players rarely used this pokemon, and even rarer on competitive play. IMO, Primeape has one of the most beautiful design ever made.

    Doduo family.

I myself have forgotten about the existence of these two flightless birds. They have nothing special about them, except that they can learn Fly, although they are based on flightless birds.

    Seel family.

Being found only on a few, selected routes on Kanto (ain;t even sure if it is found anywhere else in the world), having probably subpar stats, limited movepool, a weak typing; all of this contributed to this family's extinction from the pokemon world.

    Krabby Family.

    98.gif
    99.gif

Another pokemon of Ash's that had very few anime appearances, despite having proven to be a powerhouse. Ingame-wise, Kingler has not anything to boast of that other Water-types cannot, except a previously exclusive move, Crabhammer.

    Tangela.

    114.gif

Yes, you may argue that Tangrowth is a good Pokemon. But how many of us actually remembers Tangela when we are not in need of Tangrowth (who is not a famous pokemon either?)

    Goldeen Family.

    118.gif
    119.gif

Gender bender. A queen evolves to a king. Seems legit. ANYWAY, like Kingler, Seaking cannot actually stand out amongst any choices as it has nothing special to offer, except, I don't know. A GenI waterfall move I guess?

    Lapras.

    131.gif

I cannot believe how people keep on forgetting many of Ash's Pokemon. despite her brief appearance during the Orange Island arc, Lapras is quite capable of many things. The ability to learn Horn Drill, Sheer Cold, and Fissure is epic and novel. it's design is great. People forget Lapras once dominated the OU tier.

For the two competitors, I personally use Kabutops, mainly because it looks more awesome and badass. But I always used Aerodactyl when coming to fossils. Always loved its look and the episode when Ash's Charizard evolved, was one of my favorites because of Aerodactyl!

A lot have been pointing out Pokemon already before me. But I want to mention the ones I feel that is missing out on an opportunity after all these years..

I remember some of these, the Nidoking/Nidoqueen, Lapras, Kangaskhan being tough Pokemon back in Generation 1. Looking to Generation 5, these Pokemon had been left in the dust. Sad, sad. :(
