    What does "SA" mean?
I saw it along with "HA", which means Hidden Ability.

I am guessing "SA" means the PKMN's secondary ability?
I could be wrong though, so can anyone enlighten me on that?

    Thanks~

I've never heard that abbreviation used before, perhaps it is Secondary Ability, or it's Standard Ability like berlyda said, but... My guess is as good as yours...

I have a question about Shedinja. I got it just cuz it seemed interested to get, and dismissed it cuz of the lack of HP, but I just saw it was immune to all but 5 types. So, is it actually good at all, like worth using?

Shedinja is a rather weak Pokemon with a nice ability, see the problem is that those 5 weaknesses are rather common and Shedinja is pretty weak anyhow, so if you DO use it, you'd have to make a good strategy. I only use it for double or triple battles and skill swap Wonder Guard to other Pokes, but the use is up to you.

Just to be clear, because I'm not sure what you're saying the misconception actually is, the Destiny Knot DOES take 5 IVs from the total of 12 parental IVs. It doesn't matter who holds it.

The misconception was that the Parent holding the Destiny Knot would pass 5 IVs, rather than 5 IVs randomly chosen between the two parents. Its one of two misconceptions with Destiny Knot breeding, the other misconception is it always passes the perfect IVs down which as we know it doesn't.

I spent the whole bus trip from home to work chain fishing. I got no shinies. :P
I just want to know if I'm doing it right...
    - Stay on a spot. Don't move, don't bike, don't skates.
    - You can kill/catch/run away from the non-shiny PKMN you hooked.

And yesh, I have a Suction Cup PKMN on the lead. :P

From the information that I've gathered, both via the internet and testing it out myself, running does not break the chain (in fishing. With the Pokeradar it will break a chain). However, catching might break it, though I haven't been able to confirm it.

forget about random info you find on the net, just a bunch of he said, she said... just stick with the facts:

If it breaks the chain using the radar when killing and catching doesn't.. it is more logical and safer to assume the same rules apply to fishing..

So to be better safe than sorry, just KILL the damn pokemon..

and if your running away because attacking takes too long... i assume your doing it because you didn't fix that:

go to Options (bottom right icon on the bottom screen) and set "Battle Effects" to OFF. then you will save a ton of time since it will skip all attack animations.

There. Running does not break the chain. It's also a pretty cool video.

how do I transfer Mega stones?
I have a second copy of Y and it wont let me put Pokémon up on GTS holding the stones!

You have to trade with a person who appears online on the PSS. Wonder Trade and GTS won't let you trade Mega Stones.

    Edit: Greninja'd (to an extent)

Do a Direct Trade with yourself.. but to do that, you need a 2nd 3DS..

and also if you were able to post your pokemon on GTS with a stone, asking for a pokemon that probably everyone has.. consider that pokemon and it's stone long gone.. it's not a smart thing to do...

Stuff you post on GTS gets posted immediately and is accessible by thousands if not tens of thousands+ of users who are actively browsing and refreshing search results every second..

If you don't have a 2nd DS to trade with yourself with.. your best option is have a friend trade it back to the one you need it on.. or find a helpful trustful member on these forums (i.e. the individuals who have high reviews in trader corner or long standing members).

You could always give it to a Bunnelby and ask for a Xerneas or some rarer legendary that you have on the other game. It's unlikely anyone would accept that trade, and if they do, you just got yourself a legendary :P

    This is what I did

I posted an Oddish requiring an Articuno between 70 and 79 (or something like) then I put the message as "HERPADERPDERPDERP" and loaded the other game, and looked for an Oddish requiring a pokemon I had. Then I looked for my blue camo hat on the Avatar and the message I'd set. I was then shot down by the message "this pokemon has a special item and cannot be traded".

Anyone of repute fancy some extra MegaStones? Got 2x Mewtonite Y and a spare Charizardite Y too :D

Or they just ran into a shiny by chance without chaining... I mean if I enter the tall grass or water 219382190 times without using the pokeradar, etc, I will eventually hit a shiny..

That's how I got my few shinies.. not by pokeradar or chaining, but just random chance of entering the grass without any effort and even during the 1st time within the area, as I am sure many of you have done so as well.

So as far as we know in that video you linked of the automated system, could just be a random chance shiny, no chaining involved, regardless if they claim/refer to it as being chaining... In my honest opinion, it would seem odd that Game Freak would have two separate sets of rules regarding chaining.. one that allows you to run away from chaining in water but the other not allowed on land.. doesn't seem logical.

I can attest that running away still keeps the chain intact, pretty from the fisherman telling you the streak. And even if it's still up in the air whether it breaks it or not, fainting every 'mon wastes a lot of PP, and if you're going for long streaks, then it gets tiresome, you might have to use Leppas or Ethers, etc.

Hmm, i am going to test this to find out once and for all right now :P i never bother with fishing, so much so.. lol the fisherman just congratulated me and gave me 20 diveballs xD for 22 consecutive fishing things..

Since my number is pretty low.. give me about 15 min and i'll runaway from 25 fishing things then i'll report back once and for all if running away works or not :O!

This is what I've tried as well. I think my highest streak is at about 70 or something, with most of those being running from foes. It's fastest and you don't have to worry about running out of PP on high streaks.

In the name of Science, I have done the task of trying to runaway from the fishes D:<

Confirmed :D!! I guess GameFreak does have separate rules for water and land. D:< wish they'd let us run away from land battles, would make it so much easier Dx!!!

So Runaway all you like :D! hurray :P

Too bad there was no Shiny Luvdisc for me, even with the Shiny Charm in my possession :<

I'm trying to breed a perfect IV Abra, and the current male that I'm using has the proper nature and ability and also has 5 perfect IVs, but not HP. I'm wondering if it's safe to release all the other males that I've bred up to this point, because I figure that this current male that I'm using is the best that I can get other than a perfect IV one or one that has 5 perfect IVs including HP but not Attack. I just want to make sure there are no little details that I'm not thinking of before I do this.

    Thanks.

I don't see why not. As long as you other parent is good, you should be able to breed any caliber of Abra from here on out.

    I have both X and Y, but only 1 3DS. Will I have 2 safaris?
Nope, each FC has one safari.

There's no real point in keeping the other males. Just breed the good one you have with your best female with the right ability and HP stat and you should get a perfect one pretty soon.

Your friend code is tied to your 3DS rather than the game cartridge therefore both games should have the same safari.
