I really hope Tate and Liza give away Psyshock. Calm Mind is a great move, but it shouldn't be that tough to get a hold of. Psyshock, on the other hand, is actually pretty rare; when you go online battling, it's pretty tough to actually find somebody using it. This would help give it more exposure, and perhaps help people become more aware of the attack's existence, haha. As for Wallace and Juan--that's an awesome idea! In general, Scald is an amazing water-type move; would personally do almost anything to get my hands on it. =)

iirc in BW we get Scald early in the game? And I agree that Psyshock is damn useful because it depends on your special attack but depends on the foes defence. This combined with Psychic or some other special attack move would let you hit both types of defensive foes but by using only one stat. And also we get to reuse TMs over and over... I really expect something nice out of Gym TMs. Wattson could also give out Volt Switch, you know. I really found that move useful as a 'scouting' move.

  • When the news for ORAS came out I was praying like crazy that they would be sequels not remakes.

I hope that they'll keep Mayand Brendan, them being iconic in the pokemon universe as great protagonists and all. I seriously want Wally to play more of an important rule in these new games.

Plus for heaven's sake they should add more content to the post game and add more places to train post-game since Emerald was hell for that.

At the end of my lame random ramble I leave you with this piece of rubbish: https://www.dropbox.com/s/xwscgp41o5l6pn1/Fake03.jpg

  • In all honesty I actually thought Brendan and May were kinda shallow as rivals, because I never found their dialogue too interesting and you don't see their starter as its final form.

I do agree on the more post-game(/)training spots, though. The Sky Pillar was high level in RS but that was because it was only available then, and Emerald clearly had nothing for quick access unfortunately.

I agree with you. Wally had a lot of potential and I feel like he could have been a main rival with May and Brendon as secondary ones. I was talking about May and Brendan being iconic protagonists in my post.

Another cool thing would be that Looker returns with new missions that come out every few months through a patch to the games. I know that it will probably never happen but hey, it's just a thought.

  • I feel like the post-game of Emerald was actually one of the better post-games in the entire series, and they could make it even better by adding some new areas to the Frontier where you can find generation IV, V, and VI pokemon in the wild. Otherwise, I can't wait to see what all of the challenge buildings look like in 3D. :]

  • I think mega evolutions will be the new 'old gen pokemon gets a new evolution' (i.e. Onyx -> Steelix)

Why would that be the case? Some old Pokémon need stat boosts that only true evolution (maybe even double evolution) and not just Mega Evolution would give them.)

They probably won't bring the Game Corner back due to anti-gambling laws in Europe, which is the reason why it was heavily changed in non-Japanese versions of HG/SS and removed entirely starting from 5th Gen, so don't get your hopes up there.

Aw, fiddle sticks! I've always really liked the Game Corner (come on, the Game Corner music from Diamond and Pearl was the best, even if it was just a copy-and-paste of the RSE Hideout BGM.)

  • RandomDSdevel, please remember not to double post/post more than once in a row. Just edit your old post instead. I've merged your post but wanted to let you know so you're aware in the future. :)

And ooo I liked the Battle Frontier in Emerald lots but the fact that you were forced to use lv. 50 Pokemon made it difficult since most of mine were beyond that by the time I got there. Am excited to see how and if the Frontier will be incorporated into OR/AS. No more level scaling is the best news, meaning I'd have more of a reason to try it out. :D

3D is just the cherry on top, haha.

  • …one of the things I liked about R/S/E was how perfect it played. No down times or frame drops or anything.

I know! I think that I read somewhere on Bulbapedia that RSE/FRLG ran at 60 FPS.

I'm not really too keen on the names per say, I feel like they sound pretty fan made and don't carry as much of a punch as FRLG and HGSS had. But I don't care that much about the titles

The box art does say that it's tentative, though…maybe GameFreak might change the games' names before they release them? Then again, 'OmegaRuby' and 'AlphaSapphire' do sound pretty epic/apocalyptic even if they also seem as if GameFreak made them up just to please us fans.

  • I kinda hate how XY lags so bad when you are in a horde battle so I hope that gets fixed...

And I kinda like Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, they are continuing the theme they set in X and Y, how Xerneas is like the beginning, bringing life, and Yveltal, bringing destruction, like the beginning and the end.

That was a frustrating issue. The 3D graphics were gorgeous, but there are some kinks to be fixed for ORAS. Of course, I expect them to be thorough and make the remakes as to the best of their abilities. They are human, and subject to making mistakes. They would have to do something drastically inexcusable for me to not purchase the remakes come November.

  • I have to admit, when I first saw the names in a thread title I thought it was speculation until I read the thread itself. A lot of people were probably expecting them to be something along the lines of "Magma Ruby" and "Aqua Sapphire" XD That being said, the names have since grown on me and I think they're pretty cool :3b It'd also be interesting to see how/if GF implements the Omega/Alpha parts of the names other than including the characters on Groudon's and Kyogre's bodies.

I actually like what they did with the names; nobody had seen that coming, and neither have I. XD; Just like I Yato, I was expecting their names to be something along the lines of Magma Ruby and Aqua Sapphire, should they ever decide to make them someday. Do I their names, though? Of course; they're very simplistic and straightforward, just like all other Pokémon games. I don't think they would ever move out of this, since it's become one of their main traditions. If they did, I personally would've had hard time adapting.

  • Does anyone think that something new will be revealed this Sunday in Get Tv?

I don't think so. When I was thinking about it last week, it seems that Pokemon has now become more globalized in the past. I think the reason they didn't show a whole lot in last week's is because they didn't want information to only be available to the Japanese. I think that the first time we get real information might be at E3 since everyone has access (I doubt the Japanese wouldn't, and I think it's just an American thing because a majority of the companies are American? I'm probably embarrassing myself rn since I'm totally wrong since I haven't actually looked anything up). Remember for XY they announced the first bits of information on Pokemon Direct to everyone at the same time?

Although since they're just remakes and almost everything new will be just aesthetics, they might not make a huge deal out of it and we might get our first real info from Corocoro.

Does anyone remember that statue in Lilycove? What if they'd expanded that a bit, and given us a way to get inside by including a door? It could behave sort of like that lighthouse from GSC and HGSS. Maybe they could put a few trainers here, or perhaps even implement it into the storyline by keeping either Team Aqua or Magma members hidden there? I'm not sure how much people this would interest, but personally, I'd like it a lot; back when I still had Emerald, I'd always come into this city and look around that thingy to see if there was actually some secret of sorts, haha.

Statue? OH YOU MEAN THE "LIGHTHOUSE"

Oh okay, well I hope they expand the lighthouse to be like the one in Olivine. Be like a training ground of some sorts. And you know there is another one in Slateport City! So maybe 2 training grounds perhaps?

  • I think the Groudon & Kyogre footage could just be the opening scene, I can't see them revealing the first footage as something that happens so late in the game. You would think that first gameplay footage would be of Littleroot Town or an early Route to show off the graphics.
