Why you like Fairies: they're adorable pokemon with very unique typing. I'm glad they went with something to combat Dragons
Answer a Topic!: Create your own Fairy-type move! Give it a name, base power, accuracy and effects and finish it with a description.
Ah, this is hard...maybe a light pulse that's along the lines of Dark Pulse? A light aura bursts from your pokemon, but also can possibly lower accuracy because of the blinding light

Welcome aboard, Nymph! Nice to see another Togekiss fan here, it happens to be one of my fave Fairy-types as well. Cute but also a potent attacker, and Serene Grace makes its Air Slash definitely a move to be feared with the increased flinch chance.

I kinda like your move suggestion, it's something I think should happen in a future game for sure! Going to be adding you to the list shortly, so bear with me there.

  • Thanks so much! ♡ I'd like to see more light infused fairy moves that would have a chance to lower accuracy. Seems like it could work out well..!

You're suddenly reminding me of Flash, which gives off a light and lowers accuracy. Retyping it to Fairy would be a really weird move, but if they introduced a damaging move with the same effect I'd definitely classify that for a new Fairy-type move.

  • I think it would be more or a dazzling gleam attack but with a chance to lower accuracy so probably a 70% base power special attacking move. Sounds interesting though!. We definatly need more fairy type moves as i think the majority is all SpAtk except play rough which isnt powerful enough haha! Really the most powerful is moonblast which i believe off the top of my head is 95 base power which could be worse but could be better i think we need one of the power house moves ie. thunder, blizzard, fire blast. As each of those have a chance to effect a status condition and have an amazing base power of 120 i think it would be cool if a fairy type had a 120 base power move that lowers accuracy of the opponent if it SOMETIMES not all of the time though, plus a 70% chance to hit sounds like the best move to me!

Light Pulse does sound like good idea for a new fairy-type move.

There are only around three pulse attacks at the moment, if I'm not wrong--Water Pulse, Dragon Pulse, and Dark Pulse--and I believe having more variety of it would more or less be a good step to take. Currently, fairy generally lacks moves, considering it's a new type-group and whatnot, and this would help getting it slightly more above, I suppose?

As for what kind of Pokémon that could learn this move, which would we expect them to be? Personally, I could imagine all fairy-types to be able to get a hold of it, but aside from them, I'm hoping for some psychic ones to learn the attack as well, especially since how closely-related they seemingly are to fairy Pokémon.

I like the Light pulse idea for this move. I think some fire types should probably be able to learn it as well...and solrock.

Welcome to the club derpytails! Im sure you will enjoy it here! And i love sylveon too its like my third or fourth fav eevee evolution and its definately one of my top 20 favs! Xerneas is so cool i really love him he also can kill yveltal so lol. Geomancy is a great move on competitive battling in anything goes for xerneas as it is a pretty good move for boosting stats and makes him a force to be reckoned with.

Anyways still on the current topic...
I do agree with Peintharchia as i did say before it is lacking moves and needs more created especially in physical too. Light pulse is kinda a move affected by light which even as different as fire types and fairies are they could be able to share that move. I could see all fairies especially learning it maybe not the physical ones but i also see electric types learning it as they also focus on light at times. I mean maybe it would be that move that gets dedenne out there as it is a special attacker but it can only learn Playrough it would make a ton of sense to add it to its moveset right? Also blastoise would likely learn it as he does learn all the pulse moves to go with his abilities.

  • The only issue with Dedenne is while it IS cute, it's not really a viable Fairy for competitive play as like you said, it only knows Play Rough for it's best Damaging move, now Mega Altaria on the other hand is a BEAST, I have one in my team as I'm trying to keep my team as much Hoenn as I could

  • Well, going into the Fairy theme, I've been playing around with a Fairy Deck I've made on PTCGO with some rules:

    * It has to have cards that I own in real life and nothing else
    * It has to be XY-on (reprints are allowed however if they have been printed in a XY-on set)

I've been doing well with it so far, but the decks I have trouble with mainly are Steel decks and for some reason, Malamar decks (Dat Coin Luck)

Sorry if it took so long for you to get added to the list, because I was busily pre-occupied with washing the dishes (and it's not fun because my mother was so demanding as well) but you're officially in the club now Derpy!

Togekiss happens to be one of the most popular choices for partner Pokemon here and I don't blame that, because it's adorable but a potent special attacker with some very interesting moves available in its moveset. Serene Grace abuse is always the best way to use it but I've also been using mine in Beauty Contests in Alpha Sapphire where he does very well. Sylveon and Xerneas are both great as well, I happened to use Sylveon on my main story team in X and he did exceptionally well as a team member. Xerneas was also why I liked X better than Y, it's a much more better and different design than Yveltal.

  • I haven't spent too much time in the beauty contests (or the others) quite yet for that matter. I really want a good core pokemon to use, it get tough to decide with all these cute fairies!

I know that most Fairy-types tend to specialize in either Beauty or Cute contests as far as moves go, but I trained my Gardevoir for Clever contests where I utilize Calm Mind to gain extra hearts with the other moves I use. I also now like to rotate my Audino (with her Mega Stone attached) between Cute, Clever and Beauty, and it's always amazing when I excite the audience, get the spectacular talent and the Mega Evolution to go off.

I won all 20 contest with Gardevoir! ^^ I love contest and Gardevoir is my partner so it felt necessary. I'm not sure how I beat tough though.

Oh wow what an achievement that is. I bet it would have been hard getting its moveset suited for some contests given that it mainly learns Beauty and Clever moves. I mean, I could not even beat every contest category with one Pokemon except the Cosplay Pikachu.

Anyways, activity seems to have been down lately... hopefully it can pick up again soon.

  • It's been over two weeks so I guess I can try and bump this up. I plan to do a Pokemon of the Week in the hope to get activity up and hopefully not be buried by so many other clubs.

I might get it up soon when my computer isn't acting up on me.
