  • I'm starting Overlord tonight. And monster musume. Former because why not. And latter because...well. Y'know. XD;

    Shimoneta to Iu Gainen ga Sonzai Shinai Taikutsu na Sekai - Feels like a romcom.
    Shimoneta is NOT. AT. ALL. a romcom. Nope. You'd be (pleasantly, hopefully) surprised. Go in blind, please? :D Would love to hear your impressions. I loved the first episode myself <3;

    One Piece has a great dub cast so I don't think there'd be any issues if you go with either. But seriously man. That's a big list you've got there, haha. Even by my standards. :p

    I, uh, kinda caught the first 5 or 10 minutes on Sunday before getting sidetracked, so I won't be going in completely blind, but the synopsis had a very "this reads like a synopsis for a RomCom!" vibe to it.

    Ease of watching anywhere would probably be the reason I'd choose the One Piece sub via Crunchyroll rather than the dub via Funimation (there's some dumb and annoying issues with show listings in the Funimation app).

    I'll probably trim the list after week 3 like I said above, though.

  • I just picked up Madoka Magica again. I like it because it's cute, but it also has sad moments as well. A friend of mine suggested it to me a while back, and I've been watching it on Netflix. I am currently only on episode six since I'm slowly trying to get into anime again.

  • Exactly, that's what I've heard everywhere. That the dub is immersive and the swearing, despite the overload, helps its authenticity. I'll get a dual audio version of the show if I can to see if I could instead go ahead and watch it in english instead. Seems like it'll be a blast.

    I may be a bit late but honestly watching the dub is the way to go, it is arguably better than the original..

    That aside I recently finished log horizon season 2, it was okay the ending was kinda meh but I enjoyed it as a whole. I also finished Seitokai Yakuindomo OVA's. If you like lots of silly jokes that are a bit sexual this will give you a few good laughs.

  • I am currently watching Fate/Zero and ITS AMAZING!!!

    That's funny you posted F/Z, I'm dedicating my summer to the entire Fate/ realm. I started with Unlimited Blade Works (the 2014 one of course) and decided to play the Fate/Stay Night visual novel
    Spoiler:
    .

    If you were recommended to watch F/Z, you may be aware of the confusing route it goes by, as there are many parts that do and don't have to do with the story's timeline. Since you watched F/Z first and assuming you want to see the rest of it, you'll have to watch in a different order.
    My path:
    Unlimited Blade Works (2014-15)
    F/SN Visual Novel
    Heaven's Feel (upcoming movie)
    and finally, Fate/Zero.

    Are you confused? Good.

    I was told F/Z was the prequel to F/SN. I had no idea about unlimited blade works and heaven's feel. Are they online? What should I watch next? I was planning on F/SN.

    So far F/Z isn't too confusing, but I am only only episode 18 or 19.

    Fate/zero is a prequel to FSN.

    Fate Stay Night's Visual Novel has three routes (which happen at the same time, as if it were parallel worlds):
    -Fate
    -Unlimited Blade Works
    -Heavens Feel

    Fate was somehow adapted into the first Fate/Stay Night series done by STUDIO DEEN. It has many differences and kinda mixes concepts from other routes. I wouldn't watch it if I were you.
    Ufotable's adaptation of Unlimited Blade Works has some original content, but it's a good adaptation. STUDIO DEEN made a movie out of this route, but it's terrible and it was poorly written. UBW happens in a different 'route', so the events of Fate do not occur.
    Heaven's feel will be adapted into a movie by Ufotable, you can say it overrides the stuff that happened in UBW and Fate, because it's a parallel story as well.

    So... my advise is:
    Ignore Studio DEEN's version. I suggest watching UBW first, because F/Z has some spoilers from Heaven's Feel... but the fact is, if you haven't seen Heaven's Feel you do not 'get' the spoilers (like you are not really sure what they are talking about), so it's ok.... the order doesn't really matter.

    Ok thanks. So I should watch UBW next? And what were the dates when all of these came out? And why are the names so different? Is it bad if I watch F/SN next?

  • Watch ubw next. It finished airing some weeks ago :)

    The names are different because the story is quite different for each arc.

    And watch Studio DEEN'w version under your own risk lol

  • I'm currently watching Naruto Shippuden (I am determined to finish), Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (again) and I recently just started watching Charlotte which I'm loving. A while ago I was watching heaps of One Piece, but I haven't been as mad about watching it since making it into the second half.
