Yea I wouldn't have had any reason to learn css unless I'd started trying to make cool looking OPs haha. I just fiddled with the code of others until I started to learn the basics well enough to build my own. Still no pro, by any means.

So I just had a horrible idea for an RP out of nowhere. I want to say it's probably because of seeing Cornered on the Market.

So most fantasy settings with elves, orcs, dwarves, etc. are all pretty much stuck in the medieval period. How would society look with modern day life spliced with fantastic elements?

Well, welcome to Wage-Slavedom! More specifically, welcome to security at the local office! Sure your clan may have once been the greatest dragon slayers in the realm, or your great (x8) grandfather held off the undead horde single-handedly, but you've got bills to pay!

Office life is full of it's own adventures! Sure, it's not a prestigious as anything your ancestors did, but it's a modern society with it's own modern troubles. Such as:

• The Demonic energies running the fax machine in column 12-A is out of sync and keeps spawning demonlings.
• Mr. BronzeCask keeps trying to bring in his clan's battleaxe
• The harpies keep trying to nest on the roof
• You have to explain to Mrs. Mourbol that although her religion and race is technically a protected class, the Orcish blood rituals are disturbing her coworkers, all while avoiding HR involvement.
• The Goblins war parties are rampaging through the parking lot. This is the fourth time this month.

Dude, this looks like such a fun idea for a roleplay! Sounds a lot like Cornered on the Market, but personally this looks to me like it has more potential. I like the humor you're going for, and if this RP idea goes in the right direction I'd love to see a fully finished version pop up in the OOC later down the track.

Yeah, it does sound like Cornered. Though, honestly, the base concept of Cornered—an otherwise mundane situation with fantastical elements making for a sort of humorous irony—is severely underdone, I think. I'm in full support of more "basic" roleplays.

Also, Nero, is that some shade you're throwin'?

I'm flattered that my role-play is inspiring some, even if current ideas are hitting a little too close to home in everything but characters.

At least there is a recognition that the irony in juxtaposing something typically fantastic with an otherwise benign, modern setting is funny, and can be a host of all kinds of unusual but entertaining concepts, situations, and developments.

I think it'd be interesting to see more role-plays with considerably "less ambitious" plots and settings, and see just how other players make if it. It's a lot more subtle, but if managed right with the right scope and the right mindset from the players, these would be absolutely fun. I support "mundane" rps wholeheartedly.

Just don't steal my ideas.

Well, introducing Cornered at the Office! A 100% original idea started by me, and only me and don't you dare bring up Jauntier's name. Here players compete to be Employee of the Month as a security guard in one of two mundane offices, with bosses that don't really like each other all that much.

Choose to work for either weird necromancer man or snobby nature elf and prepare yourself to commit acts such as:

• Corporate Espionage
• Vandalism
• Whatever else Jauntier I come up with

But don't get caught by Orco the police officer, who will reprimand you, if not outright arrest you.

LOW-KEY SHADE​

I have a little idea floating around that at some point, other members can make an appearance as a guest customer for an IC hour, and I'll screen their character before letting them post in the IC. But it would be a lot of dedication by guests to post, for even so short an amount of time, just judging by the flow of posting activity by most of my cast so far.

We'll see if we even make it to that point. I should make a new poll about it. Oh wait.

And yes, Daily Feature, I don't mind discussing that with you in private. Shoot me a PM, I'll get back to you on it shortly.

Is it just me, am I just weird for wondering why there are so many hybrid anime/fantasy plus pokemon involvement roleplays? Like, isn't pokemon enough of a world to have a roleplay of that there doesn't need to be a connection to another property?

Nah. Pokemon is something most people here are familiar with, and perhaps other settings can be easier or more fun to get into even, if they have pokemon too.
