Awesome to hear it, unfortunately I've had bad luck with getting mentees lately because there's been so many requesting ROM Hacking, which is heavily lacking a suitable mentor. I did hear there will be improvement done very soon to keep up with the demand, and maybe getting more people for other sections too.

Also, who doesn't think this is adorable? It's like the starter Pokemon now feels like your best friend.

Maybe once the Rowlet and Popplio versions of that pic come out, we'll love them even more. I have been heavily speculating the Litten evos will be Fire/Dark, especially due to the black colouration, and could see it be more tiger-like to fit in with Litten representing Tiger in the Chinese Zodiac Fire starter pattern.

Thats definitely a possibility. Fire/Dark would be very sleek looking, would fit in pretty well with Litten's personality. Another theory I've heard is Rowlet = Grass/Flying, Litten = Fire/Rock (not likely but it'd be pretty cool) and Popplio = Water/Fighting. Gives that double advantage introduced in Kalos' starters. I'd love to see how all of these would turn out in their evos. A Fire/Rock feline would be so cool

I thought I wanted to be a part of the ROMhacks section a week or so ago, but noticed I enjoy the other areas a lot more! I'm sure people will just be happy with someone friendly to talk to and offer advice where they can, I'm certainly not fussy what my mentor is into, they are really friendly and helpful, and the things they haven't been able to help with, they have been able to point me in the right direction of someone who can!! Which is awesome. I feel much more at home here already thanks to FS Sensei ;)

I love it when someone who initially joins for a certain section ends up loving more than what they originally picked. It shows the real community aspect.

Awesome that you can pick out your own pokemon! I would like to pick out Zubat, since Crobat was my first friendship evolution (even before umbreon/espeon). My favourite typing is Flying, second favourite is Electric. (poison third place)

Edit: Is zubat okay? Since flying is my favourite type, and zubat is 'only' secondary flying. If so, Im at 3 posts outside of this thread on the main street, so Im getting close to that golbat :) Do I need to post the links here or in a personal message?

Welcome! Picking Zubat is fine, it's doesn't really matter that it's a secondary type, don't worry. Once you have five posts in this section, go ahead and post them in this thread and you'll be able to evolve your Zubat one step :)

Yup, made an account to download Rom hacks, browsed the forum yesterday out of curiousity and am now 23 post deep into this friendly madness that is called PC ;)

Welcome to you as well! Though I'm not a huge fan of Zubat, for obvious reasons, Golbat was pretty serviceable when I used it and Crobat has amazing speed ad above average offense plus a pretty a cool design. Makes it alright in my book.

I'm currently on #TeamPopplio, since it's giving me a lot of vibes of my mascot Pokemon aka Oshawott. They're both looked at for being derpy and having "clown's noses" and look where Oshawott went when the evolutions came out, so I have hope for Popplio.

That is true! Popplio reminds me of a cute dog and that's adorable. I do hope for something like this for Popplio's evos:

Oshawott is my favorite starter so far. I just love flying types.

Flying-types are good, but with the huge Rowlet fanbase I feel like the new early Normal/Flying bird is going to not get a lot of love due to it.

Perhaps they finally will skip the early bird recipe now! Although... If they can make a fire cat starter and have a lion like "Sun" legendary, especially after Entei was a thing once upon a time and both Arcanine and Pyroar exist... Maybe they don't care about overlapping :/

Hello! Zubat is perfectly fine as a flying type :D Crobat is awesome and I always liked Golbat actually. It was so cute kind of, in the pokémon manga.
