I put Tobias in the same boat as Richie. Both were introduced during the league only to rival Ash. At least Richie became friends with Ash and reappeared in Johto, unlike Tobias who disappeared. Same thing with Harrison, though he never reappeared iirc. But yeah, I like what they did with Tyson and Virgil.

I also failed a Nuzlocke on Emerald haha. At this point I'd just wait and finish it on ORAS, because it'll probably be a better experience.

Hmm. ok, my mistake then. I have a person named MIAU exactly in my game that uses that name for his in-game-name.

I feel Tobias was primarily used as a way to prevent Ash from winning the league. Though I find it surprising how Ash is able to make it so far in the leagues when I honestly don't think his skills merit that accomplishment. You gotta wonder where all of the other powerful Trainers are? BW was just as much a reset as the other series, with the addition of offing Brock. Pikachu was severely weakened by Zekrom or whatever and Ash didn't know how to compensate. He didn't train as much as he could have but he still won all eight badges and made it far in the league as usual.

It wasn't really annoying so much as it was disturbing haha. It's just that I wondered if the VAs knew how terrible they sounded, or if that was the intention. Either way, the execution was awful imo.

Roosters do = alarm clock, but mine was also angry in the mornings haha. I don't think he appreciated being locked in a coop all night, but that's the only way to keep raccoon and other wild animals away from him.

You've never finished an RSE game? I don't think you'll be disappointed by ORAS, then. I do wonder how the remakes will compare to XY, though. Hoenn was a region designed around the GBA's hardware, so GameFreak will need to put on their creative caps if they want 3D Hoenn to be just as impressive as Kalos.

I think the origins of Pokémon are just as important as the design. Some people hate on some designs but they don't even know anything about why the Pokémon look like that (like Golurk/lett).

The league would've been perfect is it wasn't for Tobias being OP. That ruined the authenticity of league imo. How does one obtain a Darkrai and Latios? It would've been nice to at least get some history of Tobias. Ash vs. Paul in the league was the best battle in the anime imo. We got to see all of Ash's efforts from DP pay off. I wonder why they gave only Infernape so much development... Don't worry haha, I sometimes have my moments :P

If I was into shipping, I would probably ship Viola and Grant. Unfortunately we'll probably never see the two together again :\ The rap in the dub was terrible lmao. There was no rhythm and they basically spoke with weird accents and added "yo" at the end of their sentences. At least Serena noticed how terrible they were. She didn't imitate their rap, but she did make a couple snarky comments and she occasionally chastised them by saying "yo" at the end of her sentences. Yes you should definitely check it out for yourself :P

Yes, I have a pet hen of my own. She isn't broody though; she lays eggs and abandons them lol. I once found an "expired" egg lying on a pile of rocks last year... I'm sure there are others hidden elsewhere. I used to have a rooster that didn't like mornings. He would try to peck me when I would open his coop. It doesn't hurt that bad, though :P

I made an AG signature last month in honor of ORAS, but I removed it because the design was terrible haha. Besides, I like Hoenn but I rarely discuss the games, so I don't want to give people false perspectives.

I plan on entering the next contest if you pick a good theme. You should send me a message when it starts so I won't miss it again...

I do have White version, but I've never used a Scraggy, so that will be fun. I thinking about doing a fox theme for a little while, Fennekin for Psychic, Vulpix with that sweet Ghost move and my Zorua for Dark. My team is going to be constanty changing though, so many great Pokémon in this region!


With three hours of playtime, I've only made it as far as the first Pokémon Center. Buut I got to buy a hat! I'm definitely digging the look and feel of everything. And the group calls me K-Dog, which is just brilliant hahaha

That makes sense, I'd probably do the same thing. At least they are spelled the same, so there's no issue among people of different native languages, like us, when reading them, except when making puns haha.

Lily of the Valley starts at DP182, so yes, you're literally right before the arc. We get to see a lot of Ash's old Pokémon in 182, so you should definitely look forward to that one.

Clemont has had a good introduction, but I'm not sure where they are going with him. Lately he's only been showing off inventions that don't work, and not really improving himself nor his Pokémon. It's been over a month since I've witnessed Clemont working with his Pokémon. If he wants to become a better Gym Leader, he needs to work with his Pokémon more and figure out how to cope with all of their different characteristics. Granted, I don't keep up with the Japanese episodes, so perhaps he has been making progress. Aquacorde told me that XY gets really good starting at XY020, which just aired here last Saturday, so I still have high hopes. XY020 was spectacular imo. Bonnie's development is nice because it's not needed but it still exists anyways.

Serena is a special case. I think once she starts pursuing something, she'll be more focused with whatever she pursues rather than her strange relationship with Ash. I'm confused as to why it's taking so long to find out what her purpose is because the writers can't possibly keep this going for the rest of the series. Perhaps she won't stick around for the rest of XY. Maybe she will be replaced by Shauna or someone for the next season...

I was browsing her gallery because I remembered seeing a giraffe that looked like a palm tree (which was intended to be my current avatar) but I saw the rooster and chose it because chickens are one of my favorite animals :3 The Sherlock outfit is there because idk, but I think it's funny.

Eh, modding doesn't take a lot of time away, except during the occasions when there is a debate over an action that should be taken with the forum(s). But we're aren't required to take part all of the time. So don't let me get away with taking forever to reply haha. Although real life was busy for me last month, but not as much this month :D I hope you had a good time, though!

A lot of English words don't stress Es at the ends of words, so I thought Dedenne was pronounced dee-den prior to hearing its name in the anime. I was caught off guard but then I remembered hearing my friends and seeing people here at PC saying "ayy." Thus, my usertitle was born. Although I doubt many people understood it haha.

I will admit that I didn't like Sinnoh League Victors all that much (too many fillers) until the Lily of the Valley conference started. That's when all of Ash's work from DP concluded in a spectacular finale. BW did well with networking, but unfortunately nobody really developed. I don't know if the writers struggled to maintain that many people or if they simply didn't want all of those temporary characters to develop, but I think overall it was an improvement to the series.

Since I watched almost all of BW before I even started watching DP, XY started around the time I finished watching DP. I think Team Rocket was poorly written in DP (due to being forced into every episode) so it was especially enjoyable to see them being more discreet in XY. But I agree, when they do appear, it's not really memorable nor significant. I'm curious as to why they aren't as important as they used to be. Old Team Rocket wouldn't fit in with XY's atmosphere (and the direction that the anime in General is heading), so I think their silly antics from the past won't return.

My only issue with the cast of XY is that Ash is the only person who is progressing with a goal. Serena doesn't do anything, Bonnie doesn't really have a goal, and Clemont is being used for comic relief rather than focusing on his goal. I want to see Clemont making progress with his scientific and engineering abilities. It's too bad that his machines always malfunction. However, I am surprised that he's as a good of a Trainer as he is. Definitely fitting for a Gym Leader. As for Serena, something certainly needs to happen with her. There's this awkward tension with her and Ash because it's obvious that she likes him but they barely even acknowledge each other, and I think it's weird that the writers occasionally throw in episodes where she'd all into him and them the next episode it's like she doesn't even know him.

Bonnie and Dedenne need to stay in the anime forever.
