The timing, they must be waiting for it. Which explains the few days notice of the Direct. As oppose to announcing the Direct's date a week prior the direct. I doubt it's gonna be a direct for a third version, why make it so important if it's about a third version? It really felt as important as XY's direct from 3 years ago.

Yeah, I have a feeling it's about GO. People might counter it by, 'hey GO is a cellphone release,' but they are forgetting that Pokemon games are mainly for the handheld console; it's our franchise's first time ever to wander out of Nintendo consoles, the comfort zone. So yeah, it makes total sense to announce it over the Direct.
