Well, thank you for being awesome about helping me! I'll try to breed a few easy Pokemon and see if I run into those 2 numbers on my Powersave (not going to be breeding Gibles again, that's for sure).

Could you link me to the website? There was no decimal number when I checked. It gave me a clear 2888.

Whoa, that sounds odd and kind of hard to do lol I'm making sure I don't over do it with my game outside of cloning Pokemon. And thank you guys for allowing me to test these theories and check out my new Powersave!

So the 2888 probably was mine then. Interesting that it wasn't shiny but matched after hatching. I wonder if that's because it evolved or...I don't actually know. I looked into getting this stuff once and ended up very confused and afraid to break my game looking into it. So, I appreciate your efforts!

For the record, I'm not sure if it's relevant, but one thing I did read on it was something about hatching the eggs and taking them into a battle of some sort, then dumping something so that the game doesn't save but the battle video gets saved on your SD card. Then you find out what each ESV actually is without saving over the hatching.

Again, I didn't understand it all enough to do it myself (I'm more of a visual learner with stuff like this), but that seems to indicate that the ESV is actually the after-hatching number.

His TSV is 1727. The 2 Gible are actually an egg that I cloned to see the effects of hatching. The first one (2485) is still an egg while the second one (3523) is the one I hatched. It seems that the TSV DOES change when you hatch the Pokemon but if you can match it while it is an egg, it will be shiny.

I was tempted to give him 2 Diancie for it but I thought you could hold those I gave you over his head for a bit lol

It seems like the egg's shiny value changes depending on the trainer it is traded to? I'll have to look into this in a few. Now to bulk answer your questions:

I checked a few Pokemon I have and as long as it was caught in the game, not given, traded, or bred, it will give me the right TSV. I would recommend trading over 2 Pokemon just to be save (the guides say to use 6 but that's overkill).

Also thank you! I don't have a Manaphy and I wasn't sure people would be able to tell it was my birthday so I put confetti everywhere!
