I've recently started doing EV-Training and already got 2 Pokémon fully trained. So I have to say I tried to fight the E4 solely with one of them and didn't succed, but I think I'll try again sometime as my second Pokémon got full EV as well now and already is somewhere around level 70. Though...

Before the 5th gen I always had the mascot legendary in my team. But I don't like the fact that I can't use them in the battle subway so I've got a full team of regular Pokémon of which 2 are trained on EV and can even beat untrained legendaries on their level.
I don't really like using rare candies because I prefer to train my Pokémon myself while it's easy to do, and I consider pretty much any effort easy. ^^
At the time I don't give my Pokémon nicknames, but in Emerald I 'normalized' the names of my Pokémon cause I didn't want them to be called like 'THIS' but like 'This'.
