  • Sorry about that! It's late for me, too (3AM, in fact!) so I completely understand. I think I will make a thread about it, actually. You can reply to me there (I'll provide you with a bit more information.) Thanks for at least hearing me out! It's appreciated!
    Hey! You're back online! Excellent~
Sorry about the.. pun-ny goodness, there.. ahem~

I also messaged Impo about it, cause he writes a lot of fanfiction, but I wanted to know your opinion on if I should make this a thread.

Basically, I took a silly prompt and ran with it for a chapter, but it sorta sparked like.. this bigger story and I really want to run with it. I know what I want the plot to be about, I know what story points I want to hit, but there's an issue: I'm trying to weave the story into the actual timeline of the game; I've been looking up wiki timelines and info for it so I can make it really accurate, and therefore am having a bit of trouble fitting what I want to have happen within that timeframe without it seeming forced (for the characters, that is.) It's become somewhat of a "should this happen first? or should this happen the day prior so that he has time to develop internal conflict or should the internal conflict arise when he is speaking to another character?" Basically.. what would make it stronger and flow better.

This VM aside, I notice that so many betas help with grammar and punctuation (which is always good,) but I feel like I need someone who's willing to help me iron out the plot a bit before I start to organize the chapters. Oh jeeze, it's a bit complicated, but I was wondering if I should make a thread or if there were any quick tips besides that "novel snowflake" link in the resources you could offer me.

    Thoughts?
Hey there. Glad to see that you're still active on this board. I clearly haven't been in years, but I still stop by every few months or so just to see what's going on. Thought I'd say hello since you're awesome, and a good writer if I recall.
That would be best pet ever. Actually it wouldn't for it wouldn't last very long. Oh well.

No worries, although there wasn't much to do beyond making those thread stickies I suppose. Hurrah for your part of the world going back to normality though.

    And thanks!
I accidentally double posted the beginning of my newest fic and need one of them removed, please
As if I didn't already like the Final Zone theme enough! :D

Yeah, I think I'll soon cease to be able to resist the urge to play the original Sonic the Hedgehog again.

And pfff, I need to play Dynamite Headdy again! It's actually been a couple of months. o_o; What if I suck at it now?

Same goes for the Game Gear version, but there'll be no playing of that until I get a hold of a minor crapton of batteries again. @_@
Fun fact: In the commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the cut-off date for kindergarten is September 1. So, because I was born after that, I'd probably still end up a class below you according to my homestate. I think. If my math is right.

    :(
Not even sure what to make of the last VM I got that wasn't from you. On the one hand, I'm guessing this means I won't get any further VMs. On the other, dammit, the point wasn't to chase him away; it was to teach him how to interact on a board. Hopefully, the kid will just lurk more and come back in three months or something like Oni Raichu did because I'd really rather talk to him than someone who doesn't get the concepts of sexism, racism, and... well, anything-ism.

But it's also okay because I now have a new playmate. *motions to the lulzy shipping discussion in the "what do you hate" thread* I'm tempted to say this is yet another current/future denizen of Bulbagarden because I'm picking up strong Redstar vibes from him.

Oh, why do you even let me in that forum, Asty? I'll be the death of it someday (if I haven't been already).

Seriously, the moment he said "you're quick to find things to take offense" or whatever, I was just tempted to whip out this and call it a day:

Because everyone needs a little dose of Willy Wonka now and then.

(In fact, actually, I'm just going to use that macro whenever someone "calls me out" on something that I'm already happily known for. Or whenever someone does something that makes it obvious they probably need to lurk more. Because we've been having an influx of them lately, and the macro amuses me for reasons I can't even begin to describe. Oh Gene Wilder. You have always been fabulous.)

Ranting aside, well, maybe not for long. I'm right now looking into temp agencies, and the webdesign company (that was formerly my night/casual position) wants to give me more hours. And by that, I mean "more than one a month." So we'll see how this goes!

I'm seriously too old for insane hours too. Yet I can't stop doing it. :( (Make of that what you will.)

Also SO I SEE YOU LOVE YOUR JOB.

Also also you probably don't want to come to Boston. My sinuses have been acting up (and I think something in my room is covered in mold, which is also triggering my allergies), so I've been sneezing and generally blargh since the day after my birthday. SO I LOVE BEING TWENTY-FOUR.
*bows* I'm still out of work, and my classes are only held two nights a week. As a result, I tend to keep insane hours.

Also, totally A-OK. Aaaand high five for the PTO! How's it feel? :D
This is the favorite pastime of HANK hillS!

Or will be until they inevitably get the ropes of their Wacky Whooing Stunfisk all tangled up together. Then it will be a very sad, whooless day.

The story of how the ropes get disentangled will take five episodes to tell.
When I looked at that, I immediately thought of these things. So basically I'm imagining that image accompanied by the sound that those tubes make. It's pretty amazing.

Also, he is the HANK hillS.
ASTY THERE ARE MODS ON MY RECENT VISITORS. FOUR OF THEM. THEY'RE WATCHING ME.

And also Skunter. Which is kinda confusing, but hey.

First thought about what you said concerning not being able to sticky that thread: oh, PC. You try to be mobile friendly with that theme and all, but alas. And I get why the mobile theme doesn't quite work, but it still amuses me immensely.

    Second thought:

"Bill gets stuck to chairs? :V"

And then I thought, "Well, he gets stuck to a lot of things."

And then I thought about Andy and Bill and bars, and I stopped right there before my mind went any further.

THANKS FOR CORRUPTING ME, ASTY. I apparently can't think about Bill doing something dirty without thinking about Andy anymore. For some reason.

And an old lady passes by trying to get to the canned peas.

It's okay to talk about ponies! Ponies are full of rainbows and glitter, so it's always a good subject!

Wait, what? I thought everyone in Connecticut went yachting on the weekends they weren't playing polo or tennis! Why must you make my entire life a lie, Asty?

    Haha plot.

Pretty much. :| Serenity's mouse also does this weird thing where it sticks, like she thinks I'm trying to scroll using the "drag the page around" method. Which is hella annoying while trying to browse the interwebs, let me tell you.

And yes, Bill and Lanette are like Andy and Angel, I suppose. Only Bill isn't popping out babies that set fire to things or destroy the neighborhood in fits of sparkles.

OR MORE APPROPRIATELY, LIKE US. Because you do the Jackass things, and I go :|. Which is hilarious because I still remember how I jumped to touch the tree for no apparent reason other than "THIS IS ME WHEN I'M HYPER," and you went, "Really? :|"

You have not been fired yet because by comparison, you're probably the only person who knows how to do your job. :V

Re, Card on Shakespeare: ...So. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. I'm guessing that to write a straight version of Hamlet, he just didn't include them, right?

I have to admit, I'm terrified to read the response. Because arguments about pro-/anti-gay kinda make me want to crawl under a table and hide there.

Unless it's with that one lovely who asked about Straight Pride Parades. Then it's hilarious.

P.S. I forgot yesterday was Thursday, so I'll text-spam you tomorrow when I'm done getting drunk! :D
    BUGGING TIMEEE-

New chapter of le FFVI fic is out. Admittedly, it feels a bit lacking, but I hope you enjoy it all the same.
