Well this only took a month 8)
(I should be swifter from now on)
I don't even know how Dedenne is pronounced in Japanese but I always thought it would be the same since I think its Japanese name is also Dedenne. But I don't know anything about Japanese pronunciation :\ But yup, Dedenn-ayy is a pun (I love puns) because I think saying ayy is popular again. I use it like it's popular anyways haha.
I always preferred Mamoswine over Swinub because of a few reasons, mainly personal bias outside of the anime. But Swinub was kind of one-sided and didn't really do anything except eat. Mamoswine, however, gained a lot of development with contests and its relationship with Dawn. DP did a really good job with character development, people and Pokémon.
The situation with TR is bittersweet. They were nothing but intrusive by the end of DP, so I'm glad that BW and XY toned them down. However, I have a feeling that they will eventually fade away into minor characters at their current rate. I don't miss the old TR but I definitely don't want to see them lose significance.
Why can't dub and sub be parallel? Like they always change things and tone everything down in the dub.
Clemont, yes. Serena, no. Bonnie, definitely yes. I really like Clemont, unexpectedly. I thought he would be my least favorite male sidekick but he's on his way to becoming my favorite, above Brock. He's actually being utilized in every episode and breaks his role's stereotype as wise and gastronomic. Serena is a little disappointing to me. She hasn't done anything significant and hasn't done anything besides crush on Ash. From the looks of what I've scanned in the Japanese ep threads, it looks like she'll be having her own experiences during the XY020s. Bonnie and Dedenne are the best pair ever in Pokémon history :3 it's too much cuteness to handle. She provides most of the humor but is also learning about raising Pokémon. I really appreciate the juxtaposition of humor and growth that her character displays. We could use more characters like Bonnie and more enjoyable critters like Dedenne.
